The Royal Troon golf course in Scotland is hosting the fourth and final golf championship of the year. R&A revealed that the winner's prize, as well as the entire prize pot has been increased, making it a record figure for the tournament.

The 27-year-old Scheffler, who became a father for the first time last month, stunned the crowd at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina with his tough miss on the 15th green, as gasps could be heard all around in footage of the moment shared on X. Tiger Woods has made an early arrival for the US Open, turning up at Pinehurst in North Carolina on Sunday ahead of the third major of the year. The 48-year-old Woods had a first look at the course over the weekend as he looked to get a head-start on the rest of the field. Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler were also in attendance over the weekend. Woods is preparing for just his fourth start of the season and first since the PGA Championship, where he missed the cut. He didn't fare much better at the Masters this year, finishing last after making it to the weekend.

Hours after images from his Kentucky arrest were made public, Scottie Scheffler walked into the clubhouse at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Ohio as the leader of the Memorial Tournament. Scheffler eagled the 15th hole and birdied the final hole of the day in order to build himself a three-shot lead.  Golf's world No. 1 is back on top of a PGA Tour leaderboard as Scheffler tries to earn his fifth win of the season.

The fan favorite's quest to get out of his slump got halted when he struggled through the first two rounds at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. The Memorial Tournament is one of three signature events featuring a 36-hole cut. Like Tiger Woods' Genesis Invitational and the Arnold Palmer Invitational, this week's field is cut to the low 50 and ties and other players within ten strokes of the lead after the first two rounds. Fowler shot 76-82 this week, which places him outside the cut line. The line was expected to fall at either 4- or 5- over par at the end of his second round.

World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler has returned to the PGA Championships at Valhalla Golf Course in Kentucky just three hours after being arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer. Scheffler is accused of driving around the scene of a fatal crash outside the club just before 6am Friday morning, despite a police officer allegedly warning him to stop. He is said to have continued on his way with a cop at one point 'attached' to his car. Scheffler was subsequently booked into jail and charged with four crimes - the most serious of which carries a five to 10 year prison sentence. He was released within three hours and was back on the golf course shortly after 9:15am, with Scheffler due to play at 10:08am. 

Xander Schauffele stormed into a huge lead at the PGA Championship and broke the Valhalla course record with an incredible nine-under-par 62 on Thursday. The American headed out onto the course early for the first round and quickly birdied his second hole, never looking back as he extended a lead over his rivals. He was five-under-par at the turn and only continued to shine on the back nine, eventually carding a nine-under par round of 62, one better than the course record set by Jose Maria Olazabal at the 2000 PGA Championship.

The couple shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, featuring their daughter Maya, two, who was born in November 2021. In the photo, Maya can be seen adorably holding a baby sneaker while her parents crouch and beam behind her in Masters gear. 'Maya with shoes ready for her baby sister... we're excited to be a foursome later this summer!' the caption read. The second baby's due date is August 4, Fowler, 34, told Golfweek.

Scottie Scheffler's caddie Ted Scott enjoyed another major windfall on Sunday when the American slipped on his second Green Jacket after winning The Masters. In doing so, Scheffler scooped the record $3.5million (£2.8m) prize fund and took his remarkable season to another level. The World No. 1 finished on 11-under par for the tournament at Augusta National after a superb four-under par round on Sunday.

Fowler, a PGA Tour veteran, was teeing off on the 16th hole at TPC Sawgrass in the tournament's penultimate round. Fowler had even put his ball down before there was a tee box incident.

The Sentry Tournament of Champions was once an annual event, but it was limited to just Tour winners from the previous season.

However, fans were left confused and perplexed by the matching 'uniforms' the glamorous WAGs posed in the slightly uncomfortable group picture, which also included singleton Viktor Hovland (circled, central), 26, stole the spotlight. Since winning the gold medal against Team USA in Rome, the other halves opted for white ensembles with bright yellow jackets. Meanwhile, grinning Norwegian golfer Viktor was left holding his arm around vice-captain Jose Maria Olazabal's chest. The set-up was, perhaps intentionally reminiscent of Team USA's 2016 group photo (inset), which caused a lot of commotion online after golfer Rickie Fowler was seen walking alone amid kissing couples in matching outfits.

Following Team USA's humiliating 16.5-11.5 loss at Marco Simone on Sunday, Koepka posted a snapshot of himself alongside his American colleagues Rickie Fowler, Sam Burns, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele. Despite being on the same team this week, the four players have remained loyal to the PGA Tour, although Koepka hopped ship to join the breakaway last year. However, there appears to have been some sort of peace in the American camp over the weekend, as the four PGA Tour faithfuls posed alongside Koepka in LIV Golf apparel.

With England's Tommy Fleetwood sealing the deal in a nerve-jangling climax on Sunday, Europe resisted a tense American fightback to regain the Ryder Cup. The Americans, who were trying to make the most comeback in the biennial event ever, found their mojo after being outplayed and outfought for two days at Marco Simone. Hauling back a five-point deficit, but Fleetwood made sure the trophy returned to Europe when his opponent Rickie Fowler conceded the 16th hole, leaving the Britons up with two to play and a promised half. Fleetwood won by 3&1 on a 3&1 win, but the celebrations had already started as Europe boosted their 30-year home record against the Americans and shattered the record 19-9 thrashing they endured at Whistling Straits in 2021.
