Science was meant to disprove religion - so why is it bringing us closer than ever to proving God is real?

DailyMail.com has heard from scientists in other fields whose life-long pursuit of empirical truth in the lab has led them to 'believe in God as the author of creation.'

Eminent scientist Richard Dawkins reveals fascinating theory behind West's mental health crisis

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 27, 2024
'Many people do worry that the pace of change is such that we are no longer well-adapted to live in it,' iconoclastic evolutionary scientist Dawkins told podcast listeners Sunday. 'This is a worry.' Rising cases of mental illness in developed countries might be attributable to their 'astonishing rate' of technological change, according to Dawkins

Labour blasted for scrapping University freedom of speech law: More than 500 academics join forces to call on Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson to rethink her decision

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 24, 2024
In an open letter to Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson, the experts - including evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins and historian Niall Ferguson - urge her to implement the outstanding provisions of the Higher Education Freedom of Speech Act (HEFOSA), which were meant to come into force at the start of August. The letter states: 'The decision to halt HEFOSA appears to reflect the view , widespread among opponents of the Act, that there is no 'free speech problem' in UK universities. 'Nothing could be more false. Hundreds of academics and students have been hounded, censured, silenced or even sacked over the last 20 years for the expression of legal opinions.' However their warnings have been dismissed out of hand by the Government. A source told The Times, which first reported the letter: 'We make no apology for pausing the Tories ' hate-speech charter, which would have allowed anti-semites and Holocaust deniers free rein on campuses.

Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson accused of 'caving in to cancel culture' by shelving plan for university free speech law as more than 500 academics warn they face being 'hounded, censured, silenced or even sacked'

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 23, 2024
Almost 600 academics have signed a letter to the new Education Secretary criticising the decision to pause implementation of the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Act. They include Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, and Kathleen Stock, the gender-critical feminist forced out of the University of Sussex by pro-trans activists. Labour has claimed the legislation was 'not fit for purpose' and argued Jewish students would potentially be left at risk. But critics have been left outraged by the move, arguing academics and guest speakers who were due to be protected by the legislation have been hung out to dry in the face of increased hostility on campus.

Russia's bid to create an army of 'Humanzee' human-ape hybrid 'super soldiers': Scientist tried to recruit African women to be impregnated by chimpanzees as part of crazed bid to raise deadly chimeras

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 8, 2024
It was an age of exploration. In the early 20th century, the great minds of the world transformed the lives of millions with advances in emerging new fields. Science fiction dreamed up brave new worlds and the utopian forms they could take, and ambitious powers with newfound wealth offered the means to realise them. At the Pasteur Institute in Paris, rising scientist Ilya Ivanov (pictured left) saw the opportunity to push the frontiers of modern science by taking mankind itself to the next evolutionary level. Pictured right: a still image from Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024), imagining what such a world might look like. Inset: a 1984 CGI image of a man-ape hybrid

JOAN SMITH: I've left the United Kingdom as a body that has fought for science and reason for many years

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 14, 2023
JOAN SMITH: I firmly believe in the ability of people to solve problems using science and reason, without the need for faith. For years, I was privileged to serve as a patron of Humanists United Kingdom, encouraging critical thinking and kindness with some of the country's best minds, including scientist Richard Dawkins and novelist Ian McEwan. So, three days ago, I discovered that the group I'd admired for many years was approaching well-known people in the hopes of preventing the law from changing to protect women's rights. So much for kindness. I immediately connected with Baroness Hayter, a Labour peer and fellow patron who told me that Humanists in the United Kingdom had emailed asking her to oppose a petition before it was scheduled to be debated in Parliament earlier this week. In the 2010 Equality Act, there is a call for the word'sex' to refer to biological sex. Baroness Hayter and I resigned along with two others, the respected virologist Eleri Wilson-Davies, and former MEP Carole Tongue.

Oxford students step up plans to stop talk by gender-critical feminist Kathleen Stock

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 17, 2023
Despite being told by 44 of the university's dons that they are endangering free expression, Oxford students stepped up their fight yesterday to prevent a talk by a visiting professor. Hundreds of trans activists will protest against a vote at the Oxford Union starring feminist philosopher Kathleen Stock (pictured). The Oxford University LGBTQ+ Society is organising a day of debate and a demonstration march for Professor Stock, who says she is 'transphobic and trans-exclusionary' for opposing gender identity and claiming biological sex is real.

As 40 top dons write in favor of Kathleen Stock's appearance in Oxford University, a trans row engulfs the university

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 17, 2023
More than 40 academics have warned students that expression freedom is at risk on their campus, as it was said last night. Top Oxford dons, including evolutionary biologist Prof Richard Dawkins and theologian Prof Nigel Biggar, have written a letter in favor of a forthcoming Oxford Union appearance by gender-critical feminist Prof Kathleen Stock (pictured). Several Oxford students threatened to prevent Prof Stock from speaking at the union this month because she is transphobic for saying "transwomen are women."

The United Nations General Assembly in Athens. WILSON: Christianity is a bulwark against the liberal elite of the day, who believe in the creed of the day

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 8, 2023
The United Nations General Assembly in Antwerp is a United Nations body. WILSON: To believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead - that is the Easter faith. However, such faith is still prevalent in Britain today, and sneers and derision are common. The vast majority of liberal opinion isn't simply dismissive of the Gospels; rather, it is vehemently opposed to Christianity. The majority of newspaper pundits, television comedians, satirists, and opinion makers disagree that Christianity is not merely a load of tosh, but that it is responsible for many of society's most common vices. The many benign aspects of faith are ignored by these agnostics and atheists, who are boasting about how logical they are. They see it simply as a sinister agent of control, particularly over women who are'subjugated' by the Bible, or even as a sinister anti-gay sect.

For the first time, King Charles supports research into royal links to the slave trade

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 6, 2023
After a statement revealed that a 17th-century predecessor owned stakes in a slave trading firm, Buckingham Palace said Charles took the issue seriously. The paper, which dates back to 1689, shows a donation of £1,000 of shares in the Royal African Company to King William III, better known as William of Orange. The wealthy merchant and philanthropist had been immortalized in a statue in Bristol before being thrown into the city's harbour in June 2020 during Black Lives Matter demonstrations.

Richard Dawkins says he will 'use every one of the harmful words' academics want phased out

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 16, 2023
The British author and scientist, who died in 1981, has slammed a scheme headed by three academics that claim that terms such as male, female, man, woman, mother, and father should be scrapped. Members of the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) Language Project, a science group established by scientists in the United States and Canada, released a list of 24 'harmful terms' as part of a crackdown on "harmful words" in science. Rather, they advocate for words such as'sperm-producing' and 'egg-producing' or 'XX person' to prevent reinforcing'societally-imposed notions of a sex binary'. However, Professor Dawkins, who has long doubted that people can choose their gender, has said that he would not be following the recommendations.

On the march, campus has awakened: universities are 'decolonizing' courses in an attempt to muzzle protesters

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 9, 2022
According to a Daily Mail investigation, universities are 'decolonizing' their academic, chemistry, and even thermodynamics courses to muzzle woke activists. The change is just one of a variety of ways in which academics are instilling Left-wing ideology on the curriculum. Last night, a government minister accused them of wasting valuable time on 'distractions.' According to John Hayes, chairman of Tory's Common Sense Group, the probe shows how 'fat' university bosses are pandering to radicals.

ARIF AHMED: To avoid backlash from the wake crowd, fearful academics are canceling THEMSELVES

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 9, 2022
ARIF AHMED: Last week, I heard from a professor of medicine at a top university. He usually gives an introductory lecture on a new, perhaps controversial topic. He wanted to write about the Y chromosome this year. How having it can make a huge difference in your life both physically and psychologically. In short, how biological sex matters. Then he decided that it wasn't worth it. He knew it would lead to problems. So he didn't even recommend the lecture. He just talked about something else.

JONATHAN MARGOLIS: Is it possible to reconcile reason with religious faith?

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 20, 2008
1968 was a dreadful year, even by 2008's appalling measures. In Vietnam, the war raged. Northern Ireland was in turmoil. The Soviet Union occupied Czechoslovakia. Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were assassinated. In London's Grosvenor Square, an anti-war protester of unprecedented brutality had taken place, and a portion of the Left Bank in Paris had been set ablaze.
