Plans to open three city-owned grocery stores in struggling neighborhoods have been met with the criticism that 'socialism inches closer to a failed, lawless city run by Democrats.' Others slammed an unworkable 'waste of taxpayer money' when Chicago was already grappling with a $538 million hole in its budget. Jason Proctor, a Chicago Republican who's running for the state Senate, says retail should be left to Aldi, Walmart, and other retail experts.

The death of the construction crane is being touted as the sign of a burgeoning economy as well as office values plummet

Construction cranes are fading from the skylines of major US cities, indicating the depressed commercial real estate market and a lack of new construction. According to Bloomberg, New York and Chicago have been hardest affected, with the number of cranes in each city down 70% since February of 2020, just after the COVID-19 pandemic began in February. Both the continuing success of remote work and higher borrowing rates have put a damper on office building projects, with several major projects halted until conditions become more favorable.

At the time of the shooting, which was roughly 75 miles north of Windy City, Emanuel, 63, was correct, a Jewish-American who was once the mayor of Chicago and is now considered one of former President Barack Obama's closest confidantes. 'Our family is extremely proud of how our neighbors and the families have rallied to our help and in a united voice in condemning bigotry and bigotry,' Emanuel said in a brief statement.

DAVID MARCUS: We're choking on your idiocy, Mr Trudeau and greenwashing can't mask the truth
www.dailymail.co.uk,
June 8, 2023
MARCUS: Democrat approval was given to millions of Americans as a veil of eerie orange smoke fell on the north-eastern seaboard this week. It's the Green New Deal. Environmentalists in Lennox, Quebec, sensed an opportunity by their liberal brotha-from-anotha to the north. 'Never waste a crisis,' in the immortal (immoral) words of Chicago poet-politician Rahm Emanuel. The soot from the raging wildfires migrated from the Great White North to New York City no sooner had the people on the left pounding their chests, reminding us that this was a sign of Mother Nature. 'Canadians understand that combating climate change is imperative to avoid the devastating and costly damage that Canadians are facing,' the Prime Minister blatantly said. With the smoke, the idiocy of the south drifted south.

Many of the nation's richest citizens are banding together to combat violence in reaction to the soaring homicide rate.
White House oncologist and Obamacare architect wants to die at 75

Unlike many elites with aspirations of immortality, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, 65, will act as if medical advances made over the last 200 years never occurred and make no attempt to cheat death. The physician dedicated a significant portion of his career to helping the lives of America's elderly, but the doctor argues that old age can make society and loved ones more a burden.
RUTH SUNDERLAND: Politicians and the energy sector must determine the target
www.dailymail.co.uk,
August 28, 2022
The United Kingdom and other nations can and will adapt and defy Vladimir Putin's energy stranglehold. It's now happening: For the first time on record, the UK's domestic production of gas increased by 26% in the first half of the year, but there were no Russian energy imports in June. We have to move at a good rate. If there is enough of an incentive, it is likely to swish away red tape: vaccines that would normally have taken many years to approve are being administered in less than two years. 'Never let a serious crisis go to waste; it's an opportunity to do things you probably couldn't do before.'
