Great British Bake Off star Cristy Sharp has given birth to her fifth child. The baker, 34, - who came fourth in the 2023 series of the hit Channel 4 series - took to Instagram to share the happy news and posted a sweet snap of her little one. She revealed she had welcomed a son named Judah and gushed that her 'heart was so full' and that he had 'completed the last piece' of their family puzzle.

Dame Prue Leith has admitted that she almost didn't apply to replace Mary Berry on the Great British Bake Off as she feared she wouldn't tick the 'diversity boxes'. The restaurateur, 84, has been a judge on the cooking competition since she replaced Mary Berry 2016. However, this very nearly wasn't the case as Prue reveals she initially completely dismissed the idea. It was revealed that the women had known each other since the 1970s when a photo of them with broadcaster Jack de Manio (1914-1988) was unearthed. Prue told the Sliding Doors podcast with Jennie Becker: 'I just jumped at it. I had begun to think about it, once I knew Mary Berry was not going to go on. I thought: "Oh, I'd love that job", but I dismissed the thought.

The Great British Bake Off's future has been revealed after it was claimed the show could leave Channel 4, according to reports. Recently claims emerged that the show may be forced to move to a streaming giant when its contract with Channel 4 ended. The channel axed several shows in 2023, reportedly to keep costs under control, which sparked concerns it could be bought. 

Dame Prue, 84, says she simply skips breakfast and lunch, and so doesn't put on any weight. An added bonus is that it leaves just enough space for a lovely glass of wine, she says.
