The layoffs came on Thursday, bringing on-air talent and contributors such as Preet Bharara, Dan Merica, Alison Kosik, and Chris Cillizza. According to one report, Licht, 51, brought in additional security guards not only to be stationed outside the executive conference room where he positioned himself but also to track him throughout the day. Licht was in the executive conference room throughout the day, with the door open to welcome questions from current employees about the sequence of layoffs.
