Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe is reportedly set to be sacked this week after being accused of slapping a player during last year's 50-over World Cup in India. Hathurusinghe, 56, was reappointed as Bangladesh's head coach in 2023 after first taking charge of the team between 2014 and 2017. However, Bangladesh lost seven of their nine matches and finished eighth out of 10 teams in the World Cup group standings, and it seems all was not happy in the camp as Hathurusinghe allegedly struck one of his players during the tournament, according to ESPN Cricinfo.
