OLIVER HOLT AT THE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM: The bird of night did not sit in the market-place at Seven Sisters at noonday, hooting and shrieking, nor did lions prowl the streets of our capital city, but there have, nevertheless, been strange disturbances in the natural order in the last 24 hours. Perry Groves, a former Arsenal star and scourge of their north London rivals, made plans to wear a Spurs shirt for the first time. Jamie O'Hara, a former Spurs player, said he would be supporting Spurs' opposition Manchester City, on Tuesday night. Spurs fans sang the City anthem, Blue Moon, on the radio. John, the taxi driver, a rabid Spurs fan, called TalkSport on Tuesday morning to insist it would be 'the biggest embarrassment ever' if his team beat City and handed the title to 'that lot down the road'.

Arsenal legend Perry Groves has been slammed by a Tottenham fan after catching him celebrating a Gunners goal during their 3-2 win against their bitter rivals. Spurs were handed an agonising defeat on Sunday afternoon as Mikel Arteta's men continued their march for a first title since 2004 thanks to an own goal by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg before Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz made it 3-0 in the first half. Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min reduced the deficit but Ange Postecoglou's side left it too little too late as they were consigned to a ninth defeat of the Premier League season.
