On the shores of Prestatyn, North Wales, nearly 30 starry smooth-hound sharks were discovered on Tuesday morning. The creatures were found in photos shared online and were often referred to as gummy sharks. Gem Simmons, a marine expert, told the BBC that she had attempted to obtain samples from the animals, but that they had unfortunately 'fallen prey to herring gulls.'

On social media, a crazed thug who beat his aunt's aunt to death in a'sadistic' attack has been sentenced to life in prison. During a two-hour riot in Nottingham city centre, Declan O'Donnell, 24, kicked, punched, and stamped on 63-year-old Paul Cox. On February 10 last year, he called the police after posting harrowing footage of the horrific assault on Facebook and Instagram. A court heard how his followers begged for him to end the attack, with one saying, 'Stop, you are killing him.' Despite O'Donnell's aunt, who was inside the house at the time, asking him to avoid, Mr Cox was left with multiple fractures and internal bleeding. Mr Cox was admitted by ambulance crews at his Mansfield Road flat and taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre, where he died nine days later.

In a letter sent to employees on Monday, Walt Disney Company announced 7,000 layoffs earlier this year as CEO Bob Iger continues to save the company $5.5 billion. According to a person familiar with the situation, several key divisions of the corporation - Disney Entertainment, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, and corporate - would be affected. This week's round of layoffs, ESPN isn't impacted by this week's round of layoffs, but later rounds are expected to be included.
