Officers Betsy Segui and Oscar Diaz were fired on Wednesday in New Haven, California, after Randy Cox, 36, was arrested in June 2022. As a result of Cox's ride to the police station, he was lying. He was given a $45 million settlement from the city of New Haven earlier this month, and two of the officers involved were suspended. One of them had already been detained. On Wednesday, the last two students lost their jobs. All five suspects now face felony charges.
