Orfeh Career

Early life and career

Orfeh was born and raised in New York City. She enrolled at the LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts and was granted a record contract shortly after graduation. Life in the Movies was her first film release, and she and her musical partner Mike More in 1987 formed the company Genevha. The pair formed Or-N-More in the aftermath of its debut and signed with EMI Records.

The pair released a self-titled album in 1991, and their single "Everybodyday" reached number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album received gold status, but the duo discovered that their company's investment manager had mismanaged their finances right after the album's success. "My recording career went wrong," she has said about the situation. This is actually incorrect. We had the company manager who stole all the money, the hit record that was about to become a huge hit record, and then the rug was pulled out from under us. "What do I do now?" after being on the road for years and devoting my life to recording, I found myself at home wondering, "What does it do now?"

Orfeh signed a Warner/Chappell Music publishing contract and continued to write and produce songs for other artists after Orn-More disbanded. She is also a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which grants her nominating and voting rights for the Grammy Awards. She also co-wrote "Wishing On You," a version of the Disney film Model Behavior that was released in 2000, as she appeared on the soundtrack.
