Olubanke King Akerele (born May 11, 1946) is a Liberian politician and diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's cabinet from October 2007 to her resignation on November 3, 2010.

She is the granddaughter of Liberia's 17th president, Charles D. B. B.'s.

King of the United Kingdom. Akerele attended the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and graduated from Brandeis University in Massachusetts, United States, with a B.A. In economics, the figure is in the middle of.

She received her first M.A. From Northeastern University in manpower economics to a second M.A. Columbia University is a research university that focuses on education.

Akerele also completed her first year at the University of Liberia, Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law.

She then spent more than 20 years at the United Nations General Assembly. Akerele was named as Minister of Commerce and Industry after Sirleaf's as president in 2005.

She named veteran diplomat George Wallace as Minister of Foreign Affairs following a 2007 cabinet shakeup.

Sirleaf sacked her entire cabinet, including Akerele, on November 3, 2010.

She resigned on the same day.

Sirleaf revealed that Akerele resigned in order to receive medical attention for an unidentified illness following Toga G. McIntosh's replacement.
