Kylian Mbappe was reportedly seen in a nightclub in Sweden on Thursday, the same evening that his France team-mates beat Israel 4-1. Mbappe has faced criticism in his home country for skipping their Nations League games against Israel and Belgium while being available to play for Real Madrid. The forward picked up a muscle injury last month but made his return to the pitch off the bench in his club's Champions League defeat at Lille last Wednesday.

Griezmann has called time on his decade-long international career with France. The 33-year-old Atletico Madrid forward announced his decision via Instagram on Monday. He said in a video: 'It is with a heart full of memories that I close this chapter of my life. Thank you for this magnificent tricolour adventure and see you soon. After 10 incredible years marked by challenges, successes and unforgettable moments, it is time for me to turn a page and make way for the new generation. Wearing this jersey was an honour and a privilege.'

World Cup winner Olivier Giroud has announced his retirement from international football. The former Arsenal and Chelsea striker made his debut for France in 2011 aged 25, and finished a glittering international career as France's all-time top-scorer, having netted 57 goals in 137 appearances.  He lifted the World Cup in 2018 after France beat Croatia 4-2, and was a runner-up in the 2022 edition, when Les Blues lost to Argentina. He was also in the France squad for Euro 2016, which finished runners-up to Portugal.

And so, it ends. After 31 days, 51 games, a river of tears and tidal waves of euphoria, the curtain has come down on the 17th edition of the European Championships. This carnival of football captivated a worldwide audience for a month and brought us many moments which will be recalled for generations. It also wasn't without its flaws and limitations, however, both on and off the pitch.

SIMON JONES: AC Milan have shown an interest in Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin as talks continue for the striker with Newcastle United. The Italian side want a replacement for Olivier Giroud who has joined LAFC in the MLS and are scouring Europe for alternatives but still need to sell first. Olivier Giroud has announced his plans to retire from international duty with France after this summer's European Championships in Germany. The 37-year-old forward in France's record goalscorer having netted 57 goals in 131 appearances, six more than second placed Thierry Henry. Giroud, who was part of Les Blues World Cup winning squad in 2018, is due to move to MLS side Los Angeles FC when his AC Milan contract expires this summer.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Giroud signed a contract to join the LA-based MLS team on Tuesday, just a month after verbally agreeing to join the Black and Gold in March. 'Giroud can be considered new LAFC player,' Romano shared on X barely a day after AC Milan's 2-1 loss to rivals Internazionale on Monday, as the Rossonieri conceded this year's Serie A title in the process. Giroud was also linked with moving to Saudi Arabia and other European clubs.

Giroud, 37, will join the team after the Euros finish this summer in a contract that is guaranteed to run until 2025.
