Ole Kirk Christiansen Life

Ole Kirk Christiansen (7 April 1891 – 11 March 1958) was a Danish carpenter.

Christiansen founded the Lego Company, a Danish construction toy company founded in 1932.

Early years

Kristiansen was born in Omvraa Mark, Filskov, South Jutland, Denmark, which is 20 kilometers northwest of Billund. He was the tenth child of an impoverished family in Jutland. Jens Niels Christiansen and Kirstine Christiansen were his parents. Kristiansen was able to obtain a basic high-school education despite the family's poverty. Kristiansen discovered a passion for whittling wood while working as a farmhand from the age of six, in between the two days per week he attended school. Kristian Bonde Christiansen, who was 14 years old at the time, began serving as an apprentice for his older brother, Kristian Bonde Christiansen, in 1905. He left Denmark in 1911 and went to work in carpentry for five years in Germany.

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 24, 2023
Lego executives who spent four years on the new Lego Dreamzzz set are eager to see if their investment will pay off this holiday season. Bosses at the Danish toy company enlisted 30,000 children in order to maintain their top spot on the market and ensure the company's new offering's success. If the latest line fails, it could be immediately culled as part of a radical tactic introduced by CEO Niels Christiansen.

Do YOU know what these brands are really called?

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 10, 2023
It's likely that some of the world's biggest brands are only recognized by an acronym rather than their full name. Some are obvious, such as H&M and B&Q, but others conceal the truth, with shoppers taken aback to discover that supermarket Asda has much more to its name. Others such as IKEA, Lego and search engine Yahoo! Customers are also known by reduced versions of their name, so much that they may not recognize it in full.
