Odeya Rushinek (born Odeya Rushinek, May 12, 1997) is an Israeli actress, model, and film maker.
She is best known for her lead roles in The Giver (2014), Goosebumps (2015), and Dumplin' (2018).
Early life
Odeya Rushinek was born in Haifa, Israel, to an Ashkenazi Jewish (Polish-Jewish and Russian-Jewish) lineage. Shlomo Rushinek, her father, is a Jew, while her mother Maya Greenfeld was born in Soviet Russia and immigrated to Israel. "I will thank God" will be her first name in Hebrew. She wrote and appeared in plays as an eight-year-old girl growing up in Haifa, Israel.
When she was nine years old, her family moved to the United States so that her father could work as a security consultant in Alabama. Rush didn't speak English and could only speak Hebrew when she arrived. She attended the N. E. Miles Jewish Day School in Birmingham, Alabama, where she stayed; later, she moved to Midland Park, New Jersey, where she attended public school.
Rush and her family immigrated to Los Angeles in the beginning of 2013. She has six brothers, four of whom are younger than she is, two sets of twins who live with their parents in Los Angeles, and two older paternal half-brothers who reside in Israel.
Career
Rush began her modeling career in the United States before becoming a model, appearing in major campaigns and advertisements for fashion companies Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, and H&M.
She appeared in a summer production for a FILA/ Urban Outfitters collaboration in 2018.
