News about Noni Madueke

Ollie Watkins is enjoying his role as England's Super Sub - but at some point there has to be an effort to move away from these slow and ponderous starts, writes CRAIG HOPE

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 14, 2024
CRAIG HOPE IN HELSINKI: This was a tough watch, England dominating possession but not the opposition. At least, that was, until the arrival of Ollie Watkins and Noni Madueke. Instantly, there was pace, incision and surprise. England looked like scoring every time they attacked and, with Watkins and Madueke on the field for just 15 minutes, they scored twice. Those goals were the difference in a 3-1 win here in Finland. Why, then, are England seemingly incapable of starting games with such intent? Again in Helsinki it was too slow, ponderous and a lot of it pointless. Anthony Gordon did not attempt to disguise his feelings in the summer when claiming that the team, without him in it, were too predictable. He was right.

Sick of football as a courtroom drama? The magic's still there...you just have to know where to look, writes MATT BARLOW

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 13, 2024
MATT BARLOW: As something of an antidote to a depressing week of legal squabble featuring the billionaires at the top of English football I went to Market Harborough. Rugby union dominates the sporting landscape around there, roughly halfway between Leicester and Northampton, two giants of the Premiership who were doing battle on that same day. But the FA Cup was in town and there's something about the competition that never fails to lift the spirits, even if it's true that it isn't what it was.

Bukayo Saka sparks injury fears as the Arsenal and England forward limps off in the second half against Greece

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 10, 2024
Bukayo Saka has sparked injury fears after the Arsenal star was forced off for England against Greece on Thursday night. Saka limped off six minutes into the Nations League match at Wembley following a knock. The forward was replaced by Noni Madueke having sustained the issue moments after Greece had taken a 1-0 lead through Vangelis Pavlidis.

Noni Madueke passed fit for England's Nations League fixtures in a boost for interim Three Lions boss Lee Carsley after a series of withdrawals

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 8, 2024
Noni Madueke has been passed fit for England duty after his injury scare in Sunday's ill-disciplined Premier League draw with Nottingham Forest. The winger was checked over after he had to be carried off by two members of Chelsea's staff, having picked up a foot problem during a mass melee towards the end of the game. Yet in a boost to Lee Carsley, the 22-year-old is available to face Greece or Finland in the forthcoming Nations League fixtures. Madueke's form for Chelsea this season earned him a place with England. He won his first cap in September when used as a second-half substitute against Finland, setting up Harry Kane's second goal in that 2-0 win.

Nuno Espirito Santo urges referees to be more understanding during 'very emotional' games as James Ward-Prowse sees red in 'crazy' Chelsea clash with Forest boss also booked

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 6, 2024
Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has urged referees to understand how emotions can get the better of players after an incident-packed draw with Chelsea. Espirito Santo's side battled hard to cling on to their point after seeing James Ward-Prowse dismissed after he received a second yellow card in the second half. Chris Wood had put Forest ahead before Noni Madueke responded for the hosts.

Chelsea 1-1 Nottingham Forest: Blues forced to settle for a point against 10-man visitors as Noni Madueke equalises following Chris Wood's opener in dramatic clash at Stamford Bridge

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 6, 2024
CHELSEA 1-1 NOTTINGHAM FOREST - KIERAN GILL AT STAMFORD BRIDGE: Enzo Maresca encouraged his Chelsea players to carry on scrapping after another game in which his team racked up enough yellows to ensure the Football Association's coffers will be boosted. The Blues will be fined £50,000 for picking up at least six cautions against the 10 men of Nottingham Forest , double the £25,000 they paid as punishment for the same offence last month at Bournemouth because they are deemed reoffenders. While a 1-1 scoreline may seem ordinary, this fixture was as frenzied as they come, a contest never more chaotic than when a mass melee was instigated by Neco Williams.

Enzo Maresca urges Chelsea stars left out of his match-day squad to attend games and show support to those picked ahead of them... as he tells them 'you have to behave like a team'

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 27, 2024
Enzo Maresca has told the Chelsea players who do not make his match-day squads that they must still attend the games at Stamford Bridge to show support for those selected ahead of them. Behind the substitutes' bench in Tuesday's 5-0 Carabao Cup victory over Barrow, there was Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho, Robert Sanchez, Reece James, Nicolas Jackson, Moises Caicedo and Wesley Fofana, among others sitting plain-clothed in the posh seats.

Mail Sport's FPL predictions: Which midfielder will continue his 'scintillating form' this weekend? Who is going 'under the radar'? And which value midfielder is the 'single best pick in the game' ahead of Gameweek 6?

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 27, 2024
Gameweek 6 of the Premier League is set to deliver another blockbuster weekend with Manchester United's clash with Tottenham on Sunday the pick of the games. After a disappointing draw at Crystal Palace last weekend, Erik ten Hag's team will be desperate to return to winning ways at Old Trafford against a Spurs side who have endured an up-and-down start to the campaign. In addition, both Arsenal and Manchester City will be keen to get three points on the board after their pulsating 2-2 draw at the Etihad last weekend. With plenty to ponder, FPL managers around the country have an opportunity to bring back many of the title rivals' top stars into their teams following a low-point week. Mail Sport's panel - including experts from FPL gurus Fantasy Football Hub - have predicted the full-time result of each match this weekend, detailing the players they expect to score the most points in each fixture.

England U-21s 4-1 Austria U-21s: Classy Morgan Rogers scores brace and helps Young Lions shine under interim boss Ben Futcher after exodus to the senior side

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 9, 2024
JACK GAUGHAN AT KENILWORTH ROAD: Usually there comes a churn of Under 21 stars at the end of a tournament cycle but, given an influx of youth at senior level, England are undergoing some surgery just nine months before defending their European Championship crown. Lee Carsley has already taken Rico Lewis, Noni Madueke and Tino Livramento to the seniors - and the smart money is on a few more being given deserved chances as his reign progresses. That makes Ben Futcher's role crucial as interim coach of the Young Lions - one lasting until at least November. His priority is to make sure they continue playing the Carsley way with a few different faces. Patience is a reasonable expectation yet he is not afforded such luxuries.

Kyle Walker aims to fight for England place after Man City star was axed by Lee Carsley - as full back opts against international retirement

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 5, 2024
Kyle Walker has targeted winning back his place in the England squad after being left out by interim boss Lee Carsley for the Three Lions upcoming Nations League matches. Carsley named his first squad last week after taking over on a temporary basis following Gareth Southgate's decision to step down after Euro 2024. Walker was among the highest profile names absent from the squad list, which included four newcomers in Angel Gomes, Tino Livramento, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Noni Madueke.

Sorry Noni Madueke, you're wrong. Wolverhampton is NOT 's***'... here are five reasons why

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 1, 2024
It's safe to say Noni Madueke had one of his busier weekends in senior football last week.  The Chelsea star, having made the trip from plush west London to Wolverhampton, was less than impressed with what he was met by after travelling 140 miles to the Black Country, taking to social media to share his view on the West Midlands city. 'Everything about this place is s***,' he posted in a hastily-deleted Instagram message, later explaining that he made the comment on the 'wrong account'.

Noni Madueke and Jean-Philippe Mateta have combined for five goals in the last week - and there are 11/1 odds available for both to score in today's all-London showdown between Chelsea and Crystal Palace

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 1, 2024
Chelsea are 8/13 favourites to secure their second win of the season when they take on Crystal Palace in an all-London showdown at Stamford Bridge today.  After losing their opener 2-0 to Premier League favourites Manchester City at home, Enzo Maresca's side improved dramatically in a win last time out. The Blues thumped Wolves 6-2, with a hat-trick to Noni Madueke in the space of fifteen minutes putting the game to bed.

England fans laud Three Lions interim boss Lee Carsley for picking younger stars in his first squad - as they call on the FA to 'give the ex-U21 coach the job permanently'

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 29, 2024
England fans have lumped praise on interim Three Lions boss Lee Carsley for picking several younger stars in his squad for his side's upcoming international matches. Some fans even called on the Football Association to 'give the former U21s coach the job permanently', with ex-England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand lauding his decision to call up Lille midfielder Angel Gomes. Carsley has also handed call-ups to Tino Livramento, Morgan Gibbs-White and Noni Madueke, but some fans have raised eyebrows over the omission of Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton - who had been a part of Gareth Southgate's squad at Euro 2024.

Interim England boss Lee Carsley sends message to Marcus Rashford and James Maddison after leaving the duo out of his first squad

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 29, 2024
England interim manager Lee Carsley included the likes of Angel Gomes, Tino Livramento, Morgan Gibbs-White and Noni Madueke in his first squad on Thursday. But there was no place for Manchester United striker Rashford, 26, or 27-year-old Tottenham playmaker Maddison. The pair were also omitted from Gareth Southgate's Euro 2024 party earlier this summer.

England interim boss Lee Carsley reveals Ben White was STILL 'not available for selection' as he names his first squad since Gareth Southgate and Steve Holland's departure

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 29, 2024
England interim boss Lee Carsley has revealed that Ben White was still not available for selection after he named his first squad.  Carsley named a 26-man squad for the Three Lions' upcoming Nations League games against the Republic of Ireland and Finland.  Marcus Rashford and Kyle Walker were among the omissions while four uncapped players - Noni Madueke, Morgan Gibbs-White, Tino Livramento and Angel Gomes all made the squad.

Revealed: Why Cole Palmer's stunning goal vs Wolves should NOT have stood - as little-known rule prevents VAR from intervening in Chelsea star's strike

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 26, 2024
Cole Palmer is once again proving why he is one of the Premier League's best young stars, with the Chelsea forward playing a crucial role in his side's 6-2 victory over Wolves on Sunday afternoon. Enzo Maresca's side got their first win of the 2024-25 campaign, with Palmer setting up Noni Madueke for all three of his goals, while the former Man City star also found the back of the net himself. Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring for the Blues after two minutes with Mattheus Cunha levelling after 27 minutes. Palmer subsequently hit back with a second for Chelsea in the 45th minute, before Jorgen Strand Larsen's outstretched leg would ensure both sides went into the dressing rooms at half-time level.

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 25, 2024
JOE BERNSTEIN AT MOLINEUX: Hat-trick hero Noni Madueke silenced the boos from Wolves fans as Chelsea earned their first league win of the season on a chaotic afternoon at Molineux. After goals from Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer had been cancelled out by Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen, Madueke struck three times in the second half to claim the match ball in emphatic fashion. Joao Felix then came off the bench and celebrated his second Chelsea debut with a goal.

Wolves 2-6 Chelsea PLAYER RATINGS: Which Blues star scores higher than hat-trick hero Noni Madueke?

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 25, 2024
KIERAN GILL AT MOLINEUX: Chelsea picked up the first Premier League win of the Enzo Maresca era with a 6-2 thrashing of Wolves at Molineux on Sunday. Nicolas Jackson gave the Blues the lead after just 98 seconds, before Wolves struck back through Matheus Cunha. Cole Palmer and Jorgen Strand Larsen both found the net just before the break, before Noni Madueke scored a stunning 14 minute hat-trick at the start of the second half. Joao Felix added the cherry on top for Chelsea, with a sixth goal on his second debut for the club as Maresca's men got off the mark for the 2024-25 Premier League season.

Chelsea's hat-trick hero Noni Madueke has the last laugh with Wolves fans after being booed at Molineux following his 'Everything about this place is S***' social media post

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 25, 2024
Chelsea star Noni Madueke had the last laugh with Wolves supporters as he scored a hat-trick in his side's 6-2 win at Molineux. Madueke had angered Wolves fans prior to the game with a post on his Instagram story in which he wrote: 'Everything about this place is s***' and tagged Wolverhampton. Although Madueke quickly deleted the post, it was seen by many fans, with the winger subsequently writing: 'Damn wrong Instagram account.. you lot are too fast'.

Fans praise Noni Madueke's 'top level s***housery' following his hat-trick for Chelsea against Wolves just hours after calling Wolverhampton 's***' in a now-deleted Instagram post

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 25, 2024
Noni Madueke was a very popular man among Chelsea fans following his leading role in Sunday's 6-2 win at Wolves. However, as far as Wolves supporters were concerned Madueke was public enemy No 1 - and not just because of his 14-minute hat-trick in the second half. Madueke was booed and jeered by the home crowd at Molineux from the very first minute. Why? All because of an Instagram post that Madueke made public, apparently by accident, on the eve of the game.

Chelsea winger Noni Madueke calls Wolverhampton 's***' on his official Instagram page, before deleting and admitting he meant to post on private account - ahead of game against Wolves today

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 25, 2024
Noni Madueke has declared that 'this place is s***' in an eyebrow-raising Instagram post. The forward is still waiting for his first start of the season under new manager Enzo Maresca, with his run in the team at the back end of last season almost going to waste after the departure of Mauricio Pochettino. He was an unused substitute in the Blues' season-opening defeat by Manchester City last weekend, and only made the bench in the Conference League play-off against Servette in midweek, though came off it to score.

Chelsea 2-0 Servette: Enzo Maresca does not get the relief he was looking for after a heavy week as Blues are booed off at half-time before Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke strikes

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 22, 2024
CHELSEA 2-0 SERVETTE - KIERAN GILL AT STAMFORD BRIDGE: There was no smile from Enzo Maresca when Christopher Nkunku scored the first official goal of his Chelsea era, not even when the Frenchman grabbed a blue balloon out of his sock and blew it up in celebration. Neither was there one when Noni Madueke blasted the ball into the top corner to leave Chelsea in charge of this Conference League play-off.
