Warren Gatland's team got off to a winning start thanks to a 32-26 win, but it was one they almost gave up with ten minutes remaining. In a thrilling finale, Fiji scored twice through Josua Tuisova and Mesadoge and pounded away in search of a dramatic comeback. Wales forfeited four points on their own line, but Carley did not give another of Gatland's players a yellow card after earlier sin binning Corey Domachowski.
