***NICKY UPDATE*** Nicky sends his love and wanted me to apologize that he hasn’t been going live as much lately and to give everyone an update. Nicky is doing fine now but he had to be rushed to emergency about two weeks ago because of a cardiac incident (tachycardia/arrhythmia). Some of you might remember he had a similar incident after his second spinal surgery last year (for Cauda Equina) but this time. He is trying to get a little more rest and has been concentrating on medical appointments. ***ORDER UPDATE*** Tracking numbers have been emailed out for another big batch of orders that were shipped last week. THE LONG WAIT: PART I / Post 2 of 2 (My bad penguin fic inspired by Nicky’s paintings -T) Poe joined Penguin Strike Force One the minute she reached the line on the “You Must Be THIS Tall” to fly a jet sign at the recruiting office. While signing up, she came across two former flames named Hitchcock and Winger – twin military brats with similar reputations as trouble makers and a weakness for the ladies. That same weakness once inspired them to make separate attempt to “borrow” their dad’s jet to impress the young Poe. They quickly realized that Poe was not easy to impress, and also important to note, not “easy” either. In the end, all their little adventure accomplished was a quick trip to military boarding school and now a mandatory five-year hitch in Strike Force One. The arrival of the twins was not going to impede on Poe’s plans in any way. If anything, she was excited about the opportunity to use them for her own nefarious purposes. She already had the drive to succeed in the force, but now there was just a little bit of added kick in her step knowing there was a more personal element to her grand destiny. And with that drive and determination, Poe quickly rose through the ranks to commander and was soon in charge of the castle guard. The perfect position to launch a coup…which is exactly what Poe did. THE LONG WAIT: PART I / Post 1 of 2 (My bad penguin fic inspired by Nicky’s paintings -T) A while ago in a nebula not too far distant, penguins used to fly the not-so-friendly skies. They had dominion over land, sea, and sky. However, land and sea had plentiful amounts of food and required less work. It was natural to spend less time flying and their bodies changed and adapted to be stronger swimmers. Over time flying became more difficult; then eventually outright impossible. Over the millennia, stories would be passed from generation to generation about the before times when the penguins ruled all three realms. The adults would sigh with a nostalgia for something they never experienced and the children would look to the heavens and imagine what it must have been like. The desire to experience it once again became a driving force within their society and they quickly developed flying machines of all kinds. Then instead of a space race, it was more of a sprint. They went the equivalent of Kitty Hawk to Mars in only 12 earth years – a feat that took those of us with opposable thumbs 68! However, one of the very same young ones that would look up at the sky didn’t just imagine being able to fly. That was too small a dream with too limited a goal. They knew in their flippers since their first remembered thought that they had had a DESTINY. Poe believed with all her heart and penguin soul, that her destiny was world domination. With that in mind, she knew the key to controlling the populace was dominion over the sky. The sky had the potential to not just fulfill dreams but also endless nightmares. To cause suffering beyond imagining. Anything could be dropped from the sky –from monster beats to mega bombs.
