Mr Eazi was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria's capital and major city. He grew up in a entrepreneurial household. His mother owned a small business, and his father, a pilot, is a pilot. The former owner's private aviation consulting firm was founded in the United States. Mr Eazi spent a brief time in Lagos's primary school, but not before that. He listened to reports that his dad would play for the family while having breakfast during his childhood. Mr Eazi, a 16-year-old student, moved to Ghana to further his education by enrolling in the Mechanical Engineering department of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). During his time at KNUST, Mr Eazi started recording music. He contributed to the track "My Life," a song that gained traction and became a hit at KNUST. Swagger Entertainment was founded in 1992 as a member of a party and promotion firm. On the campus of KNUST, he used this platform to book shows and promote events. When he was 23 years old, he returned to Nigeria and opened his own e-commerce store. When he returned to Nigeria, Mr Eazi told The Guardian newspaper that he briefly worked for Schlumberger. He also told the aforementioned journal that his company ventures included soft drinks manufacture, gold mining, and food distribution. He told Highsnobiety that he had started six ventures. Mr Eazi left being a club promoter in 2014 after an artist's inability to attend the largest party he attempted to throw. He graduated from Harvard University in Cambridge, New York, on June 7, 2022.

About to Blow, Mr Eazi's first mixtape, was released in July 2013. "Pipi Dance" and "Bankulize" were two singles released; "Bankulize" and "Bankulize" were the two singles. The former was released in mid-2012, while the latter was released in 2013. Mr Eazi made the mixtape with producer Klu and revealed it within a week. The Fader magazine describes the mixtape as a "heavily dancehall-leaning SoundCloud playlist." Mr Eazi worked with developers such as Magnom, Peeweezle, Nshona, Klumonsta, D'Tunes, and E-Kelly prior to releasing the mixtape. In addition,, he was featured on "Baby Lace" and Lousika's "Knockout" on Stay Jay. Mr Eazi immigrated to Nigeria in 2014. Juls, a Ghanaian musician who obtained a hold of some of his recordings, called him. Mr Eazi's attempt to work with Juls stalled for a long time due to the inability of finding the audio files of his old recordings. Mr Eazi eventually recovered his audio files and sent them to Juls, who made a new beat and designed the artwork for the mixtape's second single "Bankulize." The album features vocals from Ghanaian hiplife artist Pappy Kojo, and was released in November 2014. Burna Boy appears in the official remix of "Bankulize" which was released in September 2016. A month earlier, Mr Eazi premiered the remix on Ebro Darden's Beats 1 radio show.

Mr Eazi unveiled the "Skin Tight" in August 2015, a dancehall-influenced track. It features guest vocals from Ghanai singer Efya and was produced by DJ Juls. Mr Eazi described the album as a "fusion" in an interview with Complex magazine. He said he spoke with a Ghanaian pidgin on the delivery of the goods and used Nigerian melodies.
