KATHRYN BATTE AT THE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM: After what had been a difficult break with Ghana, getting sent off was the last thing Mohammed Kudus needed. Julen Lopetegui had said that West Ham would look after Kudus upon his return. When the forward opened the scoring against Tottenham after 18 minutes, it had looked as if he had put those national team troubles behind him.
Mohammed Kudus 'could get done twice' and receive FURTHER punishment from FA after West Ham star lashed out at Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr during Tottenham clash, claims former referee Mike Dean

KATHRYN BATTE: The forward saw red in the 86th minute on Saturday after lashing out at Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr. Kudus was originally shown a yellow card by referee Andrew Madley, but this was upgraded to a straight red on VAR review. The forward aimed two kicks at Van de Ven while the defender was on the floor, then shoved the Spurs man in the face after he had got up to confront him. Despite his team-mates' attempts to retrain him, Kudus then also pushed Sarr in the face.

MATT BARLOW AT THE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM: After a fortnight spent stewing over the meltdown at Brighton this was the perfect remedy for Ange Postecoglou. Not simply three precious points in a London derby, but a victory to answer questions about spirit and character, having fought back from behind in a brisk transformation sparked by a bold substitution. Postecoglou sent on Pape Matar Sarr for James Maddison when the scores were level at 1-1 at half time and restored a better balance in Tottenham's midfield.
Tottenham vs West Ham PLAYER RATINGS: Who was 'exposed for pace' in the Hammers defence? Which Spurs star was the 'best attacker on the pitch'? And who is given just a 4/10?

KATHRYN BATTE AT THE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM: Tottenham Hotspur demolished London rivals West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday in an action-packed derby. The Hammers opened the scoring against the run of play in the 18th minute when Mohammed Kudus netted his second goal of the season. But Spurs hit back emphatically to win 4-1 courtesy of strikes from Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma, Son Heung-min and an Alphonse Areola own goal. Kudus was sent off late in the game for violent conduct after kicking Micky van de Ven and then putting his hands in the face of Pape Matar Sarr.
Ally McCoist bizarrely claims Mohammed Kudus should not have been sent off against Tottenham - despite the West Ham star appearing to SLAP Micky van de Ven in the face

Ally McCoist insisted Mohammed Kudus did not deserve to see red during West ham's defeat to Tottenham in the London derby, despite a moment of madness from the midfielder. Kudus had fired the visitors into an early lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, before Dejan Kulusevski levelled for Spurs before the interval. Ange Postecoglou replaced James Maddison with Pape Matar Sarr at half-time and the hosts returned revitalised following the restart, with a quick flurry of goals.
West Ham's fab four FINALLY showed their flair under Julen Lopetegui in Ipswich demolition - but they must prove their worth against sterner opposition, writes KATHRYN BATTE

KATHRYN BATTE AT THE LONDON STADIUM: After a difficult start to the season, West Ham fans finally got a glimpse of the attacking brand of football they have craved since Julen Lopetegui was hired as head coach. Their front four - Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Michail Antonio and Lucas Paqueta - had come under fire for their lack of productivity in front of goal. Only Bowen had scored from open play before Saturday. Antonio and Kudus had no goals while a penalty against Aston Villa on the opening day was Paqueta's only contribution in the Hammers' first six games.

KATHRYN BATTE AT THE LONDON STADIUM: If Jarrod Bowen felt hard done by after his omission from this week's England squad, then this was the perfect response. The West Ham captain led by example with a goal and two assists in what was a much needed first home win in the league for head coach Julen Lopetegui . 'When you don't go away with England, the best way to show your disappointment as a player is this,' Lopetegui said of his skipper.

West Ham's bright new era under Julen Lopetegui has started in doom and gloom - which was further compounded with Saturday's 3-0 loss by Chelsea. The Hammers were comprehensively defeated by their bitter rivals at the London Stadium - a result that saw them suffer a third loss in their opening five Premier League games of the season. Once more it was their third home defeat out of a possible three - the first time the club have suffered that fate in their history.

West Ham 1-3 Man City PLAYER RATINGS: Which City star is justifying his selection ahead of Kyle Walker? Who showed he's an able deputy for Rodri? And who struggled for the Hammers?

KATHRYN BATTE AT THE LONDON STADIUM: Erling Haaland made it back-to-back hat-tricks in the Premier League as Manchester City beat West Ham 3-1 at the London Stadium. Just a week on from his heroics against newly-promoted Ipswich, the unstoppable Haaland put the Hammers to the sword after scoring three stunning goals. His first was placed coolly beyond Alphonse Areola to hand the reigning champions the lead while his second, a crashing effort that hurtled into the roof of the net from 10 yards out, restored City's advantage after Ruben Dias' own goal. West Ham pushed for an equaliser, with Mohammed Kudus clattering the woodwork, but City wrapped up the three points when Haaland dinked over Lukasz Fabianski.

MARTIN KEOWN TALKS TACTICS: Niclas Fullkrug changes West Ham dynamic - their transfer window has been triumphant, but David Moyes is a tough act to follow

MARTIN KEOWN: It's certainly been a productive window. I like Niclas Fullkrug (left) a lot. The centre forward has Bundesliga and international pedigree with Germany. He won't run the channels, but will stay between the posts and I expect him to be active around the danger zone, when West Ham's recent threat has come with more goals from wide - from the new captain Jarrod Bowen . Also Mohammed Kudus. And now they have added Crysencio Summerville from Leeds.

KATHRYN BATTE IN JACKSONVILLE: West Ham were beaten 3-1 by Wolves as new boss Julen Lopetegui suffered defeat in his first reunion with his former side. There had been doubt over whether this pre-season game would go ahead, with torrential rain and thunderstorms causing a two-hour delay to kick-off in Jacksonville, Florida. But ground staff worked hard to remove standing water from the pitch and, once the severe weather warning was lifted, the game was able to take place. Here, Mail Sport takes you through five things we learned…

Meanwhile at the opposite end, the three clubs that came up - Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton Town - are the three going straight back down again. Following the season's conclusion, we grade all 20 clubs in our annual report cards, with part two covering Liverpool through to Wolves.

Locked in a final day dogfight with Arsenal, City had to beat West Ham at the Etihad and duly did so courtesy of a 3-1 victory (Ieft) that sparked wild scenes at the final whistle. Phil Foden scored a sensational brace and Rodri netted the third to settle lingering nerves after Mohammed Kudus had hooked in an acrobatic effort for the visitors. In the end, City finished on top of the pile with 91 points with Mikel Arteta's Arsenal (right) just two points adrift and agonisingly missing out on a first title in two decades. But with Cole Palmer (inset left) and Bruno Fernandes (inset right) also impressing, who made the best XI from a memorable campaign? Mail Sport takes a look...

Arsenal fans were sent into a frenzy after being fooled by rumours that West Ham had equalised against Man City on Sunday afternoon. Gunners supporters were well aware that a draw between City and the Hammers would leave them in the driving seat to clinch the Premier League title on the final day. That looked extremely unlikely after Phil Foden scored a quick-fire brace in the first-half however a sensational Mohammed Kudus strike pulled one back for the visitors.

Mohammed Kudus breathed new life into Arsenal 's fading Premier league title hopes by cutting West Ham 's against Manchester City in extraordinary fashion. The Gunners came into the final day of the campaign knowing they need to better Pep Guardiola 's side's result to lift their first top-flight title in 20 years. Anthony Gordon of Newcastle was handed a red card at the same time as being named player of the match by his side's incredible 4-3 victory over West Ham at home. Gordon put on a good show at St James' Park, and TNT Sports co-commentator Lucy Ward selected him as the player of the match. However, Gordon was given a caution for his second bookable offence after throwing the ball away in the fourth minute of stoppage time, just as Ward was announcing her decision. Mohammed Kudus' first booking had been made in the second half due to a foul.

When one of Saturday's ball-boys refused to give up his stool to allow the forward to do his "take a seat" celebration, Mohammed Kudus was less ecstatic. On Saturday afternoon, Kudus scored West Ham's second goal against Newcastle and decided to celebrate by taking a seat on the ball-boy's chair.
Mohammed Kudus names Man United star as his toughest opponent - and tells players copying his celebration that they will have to start paying taxes on it!

Mohammed Kudus does not mind players imitating his historic event, but warns that if taxes persist, they will have to start paying them. Last November, the West Ham forward celebrated his victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup by sitting on an advertisement board, facing the pitch, and with his back to the audience. The 'Kudus Celebration' is now a thing.
