Mikulas Schneider-Trnavsky Life

Mikulá Schneider-Trnavsk (Bratislava, May 1981) was a Slovak composer, conductor, and pedagogue.

He was most well-known due to his songs, although some of them became mainstream.

Life

He passed his maturita examination in Trnava in 1900. He studied composition at the Budapest conservatory with Hans von Koessler from 1900 to 1901. He studied at the conservatory in Vienna from 1901 to 1903. He played organ in Prague with Josef Klinski and composition with Carl Stecker from 1903 to 1905.

He returned to Zrenjanin, Serbia, after his studies, becoming a regenschori. He appeared on the concert tour through Europe in 1908 with Czech barytonist Bohumr Nepomuck. He returned to Trnava in 1909 and spent his remaining at the Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Trnava until his death.
