Mike Kyle (born March 31, 1980) is an American mixed martial artist and boxer currently competing in the Heavyweight division.
Kyle has competed for the WEC, Strikeforce, the World Series of Combat, Absolute Championship Berkut, Pancrase, King of the Cage, and is the former King of the Cage Light Heavyweight Champion.

Mixed martial arts career
Before becoming a professional, Kyle had an undefeated amateur record of 3–0. Kyle made his professional debut on March 10, 2001 when he was 18 years old and took the title by TKO only 90 seconds into the match. He then won his next two fights, as well as punches, before making his debut in the King of the Cage promotion. Kyle made his King of the Cage debut in a match for the Cage Super Heavyweight Championship against Dan Bobish, the Cage Super Heavyweight Champion. Kyle made his UFC debut against Wes Sims with a KO at 4:59 of round one. After Tim Sylvia failed a drug test, Sims returned to the mat a days after Kyle's original opponent filled into the main event. He then defeated former WEC Heavyweight Champion James Irvin, who was defeated by a knockout in the first round. Kyle, despite his recent triumph in the UFC, has requested his release from the UFC to Japan.
Kyle left the UFC and had intended to compete in the PRIDE Fighting Championships in Japan. However, the scheme fell through and in his next bout, he fought in Japan's Pancrase, where he defeated Japanese emper Tsuyoshi Kohsaka. Kyle won round three after ringside doctors ruled Kohsaka was unable to continue. Kyle had his weight reduced from 245 lbs. To 230 pounds. This is the start of a war. He then fought against Devin Cole at WEC 18: Unfinished Business, but was defeated by TKO. Kyle's first defeat in the WEC was in this regard.
He then signed with Strikeforce, making his debut against Krzysztof Sosztof Sosztynski in a Heavyweight bout at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Gracie. After Soszynski was mistakenly poked in the eye by Kyle, the match was declared a scientific draw. Kyle then defeated Brian Olsen for the WEC Heavyweight Championship, but was disqualified after hitting Olsen with illegal strikes, causing him to be banned from the national suspension list and handed an 18-month suspension. Kyle flocked Olsen over his shoulder and then strike him with a soccer kick and then struck Olsen repeatedly, causing him to be thrown out of the arena, but not before referee Josh Rosenthal struggled to separate them, and did not stop until referee Herb Dean came into the cage to help Rosenthal.
Kyle then competed with Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. In a Heavyweight match against former All-American wrestler Wayne Cole, who was disqualified from an armbar, Le against him. Kyle returned to the IFC and won his match by knockout, then proceeded to win again, this time by unanimous decision, his first decision win in his career. Kyle then returned to Strikeforce to face Rafael Cavalcante in a Light Heavyweight match at Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields. Kyle won by a knockout over the prospective Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion, resulting in one of his career's biggest victories. This was also significant because it was Calvacante's first decisive loss, since his only other loss was disqualification against Marcio Cruz.
Kyle fought against Fabro Werdum in a Heavyweight match at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg in San Jose, California, after his huge win over Calvacante. He lost the fight by guillotine choke submission.
In the third round, he defeated Jeremy Freitag at Xtreme MMA Australia 1, winning via TKO due to knees.
Kyle next signed with King of the Cage and fought Travis Wiuff in a Heavyweight match, winning by TKO in the second round after being forced to TKO (doctor stoppage). However, it was changed to a no contest decision after Kyle was found to strike Wiuff after the bell.
Kyle defeated Jon Murphy in his second match with King of the Cage, defeating him via TKO at 4:53 of round two. He then took the Cage Light Heavyweight Championship from Tony Lopez, who defeated him in a split decision after a five-round match, becoming the Cage Light Heavyweight Champion.
Kyle competed against Abongo Humphrey in the Strikeforce Challengers: del Rosario vs. Mahe. Kyle advanced to the second round by submission.
Kyle competed against Steve Oliver at Xtreme MMA Australia 3 Kyle was able to punches in round one, winning the XMMA Light Heavyweight Championship by a TKO.
Kyle appeared on late notice to face Antônio "Bigfoot" Silva at Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II in a Heavyweight match on December 4 in St. Louis, Missouri. Kyle knocked Silva down with a strong right hand and fired several shots on the ground, but was unable to finish. Silva defeated Kyle in a TKO in the second round. Kyle later admitted that he lost his hand during the confrontation.
Kyle was supposed to face Gegard Mousasi at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley, but he had to cancel due to a broken hand. Keith Jardine, a veteran of UFC, resurfaced on short notice as his replacement.
Kyle was again scheduled to face Mousasi in the Strikeforce World Grand Prix: Barnett vs. Kharitonov, but Mousasi was disqualified for unknown reasons and was replaced by Strikeforce newcomer Marcos Rogério de Lima. Kyle won by a unanimous vote, cutting out the younger fighter with boxing tactics.
Kyle had been scheduled to face Gegard Mousasi at Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey, but he had to withdraw due to injuries. In what would be a title eliminator match for the vacant Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Championship, he next meets Rafael Cavalcante in a rematch at Strikeforce 40. In the first round, Kyle lost by guillotine choke. Cavalcante tested positive for a banned drug during the fight, and the CSAC declared the contest a "no contest" after the battle.
Kyle at Strikeforce defeated Mousasi at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine on January 12, 2013. In the first round, he lost by submission. Following the loss, Kyle said he would retire.
He has since announced that he will not retire and will continue to compete against veteran Valentijn Overeem in May, but Overeem was forced to leave due to injury.
Kyle later faced Travis Wiuff in a rematch and was able to win by knockout just 21 seconds into the match. Kyle landed a lead counter-left hook that appeared to be unconscious, Wiuff's back was then screamed before the referee told the referee that Wiuff had been "out" but the match was not called until Kyle landed another blow to the downed Wiuff.
