It includes a series of new 'gender roles stereotypes' for teachers of students as young as four, who will learn about the benefits of 'gender stereotypes' before beginning to the third grade. At that point, students, who will then be eight years old, will know the differences between biological sex and gender identity. The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education in California voted Tuesday to extend the framework for 60 days so it could be perused by the public - sparking a tense debate about its contents. Members will have to decide whether or not to follow the rules, which do not require authorization. Rather, the decision to adopt will be left up to the local school boards, as Massachusetts is one of 21 states that do not have a sex-ed policy.
