A man's Hawaiian oceanfront house has collapsed into the ocean - and now the state is suing him for allowing it to happen.  Heart-stopping footage shared on social media earlier this week showed the home on Oahu's North Shore breaking apart and collapsing into the crashing waves. It's unclear who the owner is - he has not yet been named publicly, despite video of the collapse being widely shared online.  

Alec Hall died at home in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, surrounded by his family. By his eldest daughter, he was described as 'loyal' and 'courageous.' With the rest of the population captured or killed, only 2,400 would make it out. In 1944, British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery's brainchild was launched with the aim of securing eight bridges across the Rhine in an attempt to end the war early. Nevertheless, it became a horrific bloodbath for Allies and soldiers who were trapped in house-to-house combat during the nine-day war. Operation Market Garden was immortalized in 1977 Hollywood blockbuster A Bridge Too Far, starring Sean Connery and Michael Cain.
