The rise of merch-core: As Swifties like Tom Cruise hop on bracelet swapping trend, experts reveal why clothing branded on your favourite stars is cool again (and how to wear it without correctly!)

With 90s and noughties fashion making a major fashion comeback, it was alway only a matter of time until slogan tees came back with bang. After all, who can forget the popularity of shirts boasting cultural icons of the early 2000s - with music fans making it clear whether they were team Britney or Christina by wearing tops emblazoned with their favourite popstrels. Fashion moves in cycles, and very often, what's de riguer one year, is a fashion faux pas a single season later. For many years, a relatively new breed of celebs - YouTubers - have supplemented their income streams by selling 'merch'. The term, an abbreviated form of the word 'merchandise', can encompass any range of goods - from clothing, to mugs, to notepads and all sorts of other items featuring the star's branding or likeness. The future of shopping?Shoppers hail Tesco's no-scan 'magic tills' as 'easier and more convenient' as supermarket rolls out sensors and cameras to calculate grocery bills

Customers are tracked by a combination of sensors and cameras as they move through the stores, alerting what they pick up as they move. Customers will be given a list of items that the store believes they have picked up before paying before paying. Following a demonstration of similar technology in Holborn in 2021, the system was introduced in a Hammersmith branch (inside the store, at the top and bottom right), London, although other brands, such as Amazon and Aldi, have made strides in recent years. Shoppers (left and inset) in London have been left in awe of the new payment scheme, which they claim improves their shop's efficiency and makes it more convenient, and believe it should be introduced in more stores around the country.

Zooey Deschanel Says She Would Be "Very Happy to Revisit" "New Girl" For a Reboot

www.popsugar.co.uk, April 5, 2023
Zooey Deschanel hasn't been opposed to more "New Girl" material. In a Wall Street Journal interview on April 3, the actor and singer announced that although she "wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life doing reboots," if she had to choose one project to renovate, it would be "New Girl." "I certainly had a wonderful time and would be very keen to return," she said. Deschanel appeared on "New Girl" from 2011 to 2018, appearing alongside Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris, Max Greenfield, and Hannah Simone. Her interview isn't the first time a cast member has discussed a return to the comedy, but not everyone is keen to jump right in. Greenfield, for example, has voiced reservations about a revival. "I think if Liz [Meriwether] wanted to do it, who created the show, obviously, she thought there was some way back in," he told E! News from October 2022. "It's certainly going to be something I'd be open to," says the author.
