Georgia man George Kalb, 48 (top left), was taken into custody on Friday morning and charged with first-degree burglary and theft by conversion. Homeowner Michael Peterson (top right) died last June after suffering a heart attack. He had no will, and the house has since gone into foreclosure. But on April 16, Kalb parked a moving van in the driveway. He changed the locks and tidied up the yard. Neighbors phoned police, and Kalb presented an unsigned rental with a different person listed as the homeowner. Police later found signs of forced entry and took him into custody over a week later. Kalb has a lengthy criminal history consisting of burglary, grand theft and forgery offenses in both Georgia and Florida.
