He's famous for his notoriously complicated Middle Eastern recipes - but it turns out, Yotam Ottolenghi (pictured) has a more minimalist approach when it comes to his kitchen utensils.  The celebrity chef, 55, who has eight London restaurants (inset), gushed about his favourite cooking utensils on the podcast The Enoughness with Melanie Rickey. During the recording, Yotam said he prefers to invest in 'timeless' tools - rather than chasing culinary trends. The cookbook author explained: 'I don't have an air fryer. I don't have a slow cooker. I don't have a rice cooker.'

How Great British Bake Off has has weathered presenter spats, a carousel of hosts and 'tension' in the tent

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 8, 2024
With its floral bunting, pastel Kitchen Aids and cutesy cake stands, viewers may assume the Great British Bake Off tent is nothing but a warm and friendly place to work. But for Sandi Toksvig (centre), it seems this was simply not the case. Earlier this week, the Danish-Britain comedian - who co-hosted the show from 2017-2020 - revealed that her Bake Off stint felt like 'the longest three years of her life'. In an interview with The Times , Sandi admitted that her psychotherapist wife Debbie eventually convinced her to quit as she 'wasn't happy'. Although Sandi has made a lifelong friend in judge Prue Leith , the star said she hasn't maintained 'much' of a relationship with Paul Hollywood as he's 'so busy'. When asked if she remained friends her former co-host Noel Fielding , who has presented the show since its move to Channel 4 in 2017, Sandi curtly replied: 'No.' Despite being heralded as the most 'wholesome' show on British screens, Bake Off has weathered its fair share of PR storms in its 14-year run. Here FEMAIL delves into the dark side of the nation's favourite series. Left: Paul Hollywood with former host Mary Berry. Inset: Paul's ex-girlfriend Summer Monteys-Fullam. Sunday is the new Friday! Work from home means 'more people are going out to eat at the end of the week'

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 7, 2024
Sunday has become the new Friday thanks to Britain's burgeoning 'work from home' culture, it is claimed - with more people going out to dine at the weekend's end. Fridays have become 'tougher' for hospital firms amid a shift in post-Covid pandemic working patterns, the boss of a pizza chain has suggested. Thom Elliot (pictured with brother James and Mary Berry), co-founder of Pizza Pilgrims, said dining behaviour had changed with the onset of hybrid working - making Sundays busier but Fridays less buzzing. Consumers are tucking into 'treat meals' during the week but indulging more on not only Saturdays but also Sundays, he says. It comes after pub chiefs told of their struggles with a loss of post-work business with more people working from home - but some signs of people making a point of going in on Fridays to catch up with colleagues for end-of-the-week drinks.

It's not just Meghan! Duchess Googles up-and-coming designers to boost their profile - but royals including Kate Middleton, Zara Tindall, and Prince William have helped British brands soar too

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 6, 2024
When the Duchess of Sussex claimed that she spends her time Googling small and up-and-coming designers to put them in the global spotlight and boost sales, she raised eyebrows amongst royal watchers. While she undoubtedly can be credited with putting the British brand Strathberry on the map, she often chose to wear high-end - and expensive - designer labels such as Givenchy, Dior and Oscar de la Renta on official engagements. And, certainly, she is not the only member of the Royal Family to propel British brands to success: many labels attribute their sales boosts to the royal seal of approval.

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 30, 2024
Prince William's relationship with Kate Middleton at the University of St Andrews began as a friendship and then grew into something more in 2002. Though not announced officially to the world until 2005, 'it was an open secret' among the student community, Robert Jobson writes in his new biography of the Princess of Wales. But it was not until the they played a drinking game at a dinner party that the pair acknowledged it to others. Carly Massy-Birch, who William briefly dated during his first term, asked a question during a round of 'Never Have I Ever' that would uncover his relationship with Kate. It was on there that the BBC newsreader reportedly sent the man a flurry of celeb pics and provocative messages.

They were university friends first, then love blossomed, but the Prince decided he needed 'space'. He soon realised his mistake... William dumped devastated Kate in a 30-minute phone call but she won him back - dressed in a nurse's uniform!

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 29, 2024
She'd waited several years for him to make up his mind, and quite suddenly he had. Prince William, then the world's most eligible bachelor, had decided it was just too soon to be tied down to Catherine Middleton. He celebrated their break-up with an alcohol-fuelled night at the Mahiki nightclub in Mayfair with his close pals. 'I'm free!' he shouted as he slipped into a drunken version of the robot dance. He then told his friends that they should all 'drink the menu', which they more or less ended up doing. Naturally, Catherine got to hear about these juvenile antics. They seemed to mark a humiliating end to the romance that had begun when they were both students at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

It was revealed that the women had known each other since the 1970s when a photo of them with broadcaster Jack de Manio (1914-1988) was unearthed. Prue told the Sliding Doors podcast with Jennie Becker: 'I just jumped at it. I had begun to think about it, once I knew Mary Berry was not going to go on. I thought: "Oh, I'd love that job", but I dismissed the thought.

Getting to know this tiny black-and-tan puppy transformed my life because at the time I was an only child. Pictured right with labrador Lucy.

Kensington Palace typically releases portraits of the Wales children early in the morning to mark their birthdays. However, in a break with tradition, William and Kate shared a photo of Prince Louis on Tuesday afternoon rather than at midnight on his birthday as is customary with new royal portraits. They also shared an unseen wedding photo to mark their 13th wedding anniversary. Many are wondering if the Prince and Princess of Wales will share a new snap of their only daughter, following the fallout from her photoshop scandal earlier this year.
