Todd McShay of ESPN has been slammed by Jaxon Smith-Njigba's family over a 'injury' study

Todd McShay of ESPN is facing criticism from Jaxon Smith-Njigba's family for implying that the NFL prospect was putting his career aspirations above the Buckeyes' upcoming College Football Playoff semifinal game against top-ranked Georgia. Smith-Njigba revealed earlier this week that he would not participate in the all-important game against the Bulldogs on December 31, while recovering from a leg injury and planning for the 2023 NFL draft. In the Buckeyes' opener against Notre Dame, the AP Preseason All-American was hurt and played in only two other games. Until the season, there were no information regarding his injury. McShay said on Monday that NFL scouts told him Smith-Njigba is 'healthy enough to play, and he's shielding himself against the draft,' but the receiver's family, including older brother Canaan, a Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder, was furious.
