Martin Lee Truex Jr. (born June 29, 1980) is an American professional stock car racing driver.
He currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 19 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing.
He is the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion and a two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series champion; having won the title in 2004 and 2005.
In 2019 he won his second Coca-Cola 600.
His younger brother, Ryan, is a champion in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East division and currently races in the Xfinity Series, while his cousin Curtis raced for JR Motorsports.
Personal life
Truex was born in Trenton, New Jersey, and grew up in the Mayetta section of Stafford Township, New Jersey. He graduated from Southern Regional High School in 1998. His father, Martin Truex Sr., was a former race winner in the Busch North Series. His younger brother, Ryan, is a former champion in the K&N Pro Series East, and was a contender for 2014 Rookie of the Year in Sprint Cup.
Truex and his girlfriend Sherry Pollex have been together since 2005. In 2007, they started the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation to support children with pediatric cancer. In 2014, Pollex was diagnosed with Stage III ovarian cancer.
In January 2007, Truex was charged with disorderly conduct after being spotted urinating on his car in a public parking garage. Truex, who had been drinking at a bar with members of his team, was fined $100 and issued a public apology.
Truex is an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League and the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League.
In 2019, Truex's holding company, which holds a small aircraft fleet, entered the human organ transport business.

Early career
Martin Truex Jr., Martin Jr., began racing at the New Egypt Speedway, which was located in Central New Jersey when it was still paved (the track was later changed to dirt). Truex Jr. will play in the Modified division at Wall Stadium in 1998, as soon as he was old enough to race a vehicle under New Jersey rules.
Truex bought a house in Mooresville, North Carolina, in 2000, then moved south and rented a house from Dale Earnhardt Jr., before purchasing his own home there. He started racing in the Busch North Series following in his father's footsteps. He appeared in three seasons (2000 to 2002) and made limited appearances in 2003.
