Marlene Neubauer-Woerner (August 25, 1918 – January 1, 2010), a German sculptor, was born Marlene Woerner.

She was born in Landshut, Germany, and was born.

Life

She earned her Master's degree in ceramics in 1932, only 19 years old, after both parents' deaths. She began her sculpture studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1936 under the direction of Josef Henselmann and Richard Knecht. She was the first woman to study sculpture for use with public buildings at the academy. Marlene Neubauer-Woerner has lived and worked as a freelance sculptor, based in Munich, since 1945. She has been a member of the Sezession, a Munich artist group, since 1952, and a founder of GEDOK, a German group of women artists. She was awarded the Schwabinger Kunstpreis (Art Prize) in 1978 and 1984, and the Bavarian Order of Merit was given to her in Merit. In 1987, she was a guest of honour at the Villa Massimo in Rome. Cologne, Vienna, Paris, and Athens have all been honoured with their medals. She died in Munich on January 1, 2010.
