Death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar will make hostage negotiations 'extremely difficult' and prolong war in the region, experts warn

The death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza will make negotiations with Israel 'extremely difficult' and could prolong a drawn out war in the region, experts warn. Hamas' leader in Gaza was killed on Wednesday in an Israeli strike in the Palestinian enclave, the IDF confirmed today after an extensive study of dental records. Dr Andreas Krieg, Assistant Professor of Defence Studies at King's College London , said the confirmation would come as an 'extremely symbolic event for Israel' after more than a year embroiled in intense clashes with Hamas in Gaza. However, he warned that it would be 'very difficult to strike a deal within Hamas now to get the hostages back' - and that continued resistance fighting could descend into a 'sort of protracted, atrocious conflict in Gaza' unlikely to end soon.
England star Tammy Beaumont hoping to lead Welsh Fire to glory in The Hundred final as she reveals her newfound passion for Wales

EXCLUSIVE: When The Hundred first arrived on the cricketing landscape in England and Wales in 2021, it certainly had its critics - many of whom struggled to see how they could affiliate with the eight new sides created. Who would have any passion for the Trent Rockets? Why should I support Birmingham Phoenix? And how can we lend our backing to teams sponsored by the likes of Pom-Bears? There is merit in some of those arguments and, arguably, they applied as much to the players involved as the cricket-watching public. The franchise tournaments - such as The Hundred and Indian Premier League - don't exactly lend themselves to fervour and loyalty with players and coaches coming and going across continents as well as teams on a regular basis. But that is not what England ace Tammy Beaumont has found this month.

A mother who escaped domestic abuse and survived homelessness has built a successful coaching business (right) with just £300. Dani Wallace, from Preston, revealed she was 'sofa surfing' with two kids under three in 2009, sleeping between her mother's house, her friend's house and her sister's house while trying to find 'somewhere stable to live'. Speaking to BBC news she revealed she eventually managed to find a house for her and her children but it was not the safe haven they had hoped for and she has enough.
