Mariasela Alvarez Lebrón (born January 31, 1960 in Santo Domingo) is a Dominican architect, TV Host and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World 1982.
She became the first Dominican woman to win an international beauty title.

Career
On November 18, 1982 at the Royal Albert Hall, London, the native of Santo Domingo, the Dominican capital, was named the 32nd Miss World.
She returned to her country and completed her studies of architecture at Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo at the end of her term as Miss World. lvarez has built many buildings in her home country, including one of Santo Domingo's landmarks, the Torre Cristal, where the telephone company Codetel has one of its commercial branches.
In 1991, she became involved in television production and produced Con los Ojos Abiertos, her own weekly talk show (lit. "With Open Eyes," she co-hosted at the beginning with Milagros Germán Olalla, Miss Dominican Republic 1980, is the program that appeared on "With Open Eyes."
