It was reported on Tuesday morning that United minority owners INEOS have decided to end Ferguson's multi-million-pound contract as a global club ambassador and club director. Ferguson took up the role after stepping down as manager in 2013 following a glittering 26-year reign in charge at Old Trafford. He reportedly received £2.16million-a-year to serve as a global ambassador for the club in an agreement which had continued for over a decade.

A paedophile head teacher who was jailed for abusing schoolgirls may have been targeting children for up to 40 years. Neil Foden, one of the most powerful and well-known headteachers in north Wales, was convicted of 19 offences involving the abuse of four girls between 2019 and 2023. But there are now fears the 66-year-old's trail of abuse dates back to 1979 - after one of the first pupils that Foden ever taught at Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen, Bethesda, came forward and said she was assaulted. Another former pupil, who has also not revealed her identity, said she was groomed by Foden for five years at Ysgol Friars in Bangor and received messages from him until the day he was arrested in September 2023. The two women told a BBC investigation that police had informed them that there were up to 20 potential other victims of Foden's abuse.

Jamie Carragher has claimed that Manchester United star Marcus Rashford should have been sent off against Aston Villa. Rashford had just been booked for bringing down Matty Cash and then proceeded to foul Leon Bailey. The 26-year-old managed to escape without a second booking and was promptly substituted by Erik ten Hag, with Antony replacing him.
