Travis Kelce met French soccer legend Zinedine Zidane at the Miami Grand Prix - and joked afterwards that he was grateful not to be headbutted. Zidane was infamously sent off from the 2006 World Cup Final vs. Italy when he headbutted Marco Materazzi, reducing France to 10 men and helping Azzurri ultimately win on penalties. But Kelce - an investor into Alpine's F1 team - had a much friendlier interaction with Zidane on Sunday.

Marco Materazzi has admitted that he never saw Zinedine Zidane again after the Frenchman headbutted him in the 2006 World Cup final. In the final game of his career, the French star was discredited by wrangling with the Italian defender and striking against him with his head before Materazzi's side took the trophy. Materazzi, a retired Inter Milan player, keeps fit and plays occasional friendlies with his former Inter Milan colleagues, but does not want his professional career to be remembered solely for that moment in the 2006 final.

Marco Materazzi, an inductee into the Inter Milan hall of fame, has mused how he dished out a "good beating" to Mario Balotelli after winning the Champions League semi-finals over Barcelona in 2010. Balotelli's actions fortunately had no lasting impact on Inter's European campaign as they advanced past Barcelona in the second leg before defeating Bayern Munich in the final. The striker's departure from the club was confirmed in the summer as Balotelli left Manchester City to be a part of the club's new era, bringing an end to the club's hunt for their first Premier League title.

The rivalry affectionately christened the 'Madonnina' in honor of the glistening statue of the Madonna on top of Milan's cathedral. This is no ordinary affair. Milan has long been associated with its unrivaled wealth, fashion heritage, and sporting history, and rightly so. However, above all, pulsing through the veins of a city bursting with enthusiasm and zeal, it is also characterized by a divide. Both AC Milan and Inter Milan's derby means more than any other. Both these giants, who had previously lost their way and were captivated by misadulation, are revived and have returned to football's top table once more. Now, two legs are all that distinguish them from a shot at the unthinkable. And so, Mail Sport has looked at the battles that might determine the winner ahead of the first showdown.
