There is no word yet on who will play the pop star, but the director behind the upcoming musical Wicked, Jon M. Chu, is also developing the biopic. 

In the DreamWorks Animation trilogy, the Scottish actor, 54, played Stoick the Vast and will reprise the role in the forthcoming adaptation. Dean DeBlois' film is currently scheduled for release on June 13, 2025, and will be produced by Marc Platt and Adam Siegel.
