Celeste Pickersgill, the dance partner of long-term character Norris Cole, was played by Malcolm Hebden in the soap. In 2000, Joan portrayed Celeste, who appeared with Norris at the Tower Ballroom for five episodes. The actress appeared in an episode of Dad's Army in 1972, but she was best known for her numerous appearances in The Arthur Haynes Exhibition between 1956 and 1962. Joan died in November.

Barbara Knox of Coronation Street celebrated her 90th birthday with a one-off ITV Special on Friday, including a reunion with one of the soap's most iconic names. Rita Tanner, the actress who has appeared on the soap since 1962, loved a trip down memory lane to look back on her time on the cobbles with Bradley Walsh. Fans were also treated to a surprise reunion with Barbara and her co-star Malcolm Hebden, who appeared in the legendary cobbles gossip Norris Cole during the series.
