Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi (born 7 June 1974) is a retired Indian professional tennis player.
In 1997, he became the first Indian to win a Grand Slam tournament (with Rika Hiraki).

Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi was born in Chennai, India, on June 7, 1974.
Personal life
He was given the Padma Shri in 2001, one of India's highest civilian awards. Bhupathi, a student at the University of Mississippi in the United States, has been chastised. He is the creator of Globosport India private Limited, which was established in 2002 as a sports and entertainment company.
He married model Shvetha Jaishankar in 2002, but the couple got divorced in 2009 after seven years of marriage. Career
Mahesh Bhupathi is one of the best doubles players of the 1990s and 2000s. Bhupathi won three doubles with Leander Paes in 1999, including the French Open and Wimbledon. He and Paes became the first doubles team to reach the finals of all four Grand Slams, the first time such a feat has been achieved in the open era and the first time since 1952. They became the world No. 1 on April 26th. 1 doubles team. Ai Sugiyama of Japan also won the US Open mixed doubles with Bhupathi.
Bhupathi also competed in the Australian Open mixed doubles tournament in 2006. Martina Hingis was paired with Bhupathi in 2006. The first-time pair defeated four seeded opponents along the way, with only losing a single set throughout. Bhupathi and Hingis won the championship in straight sets, 6–3, 6–3. It was the sixth grand Slam for Bhupathi and the first one for Hingis. Bhupathi won the Australian Open in mixed doubles for the fourth time.
The 2007 Australian Open men's doubles tournament pitted Bhupathi and Radek tpánek in 2007. Bhupathi defeated Jonas Björkman and Max Mirnyi in the quarterfinals after teaming up with tpánek at the 2007 French Open for the doubles semifinals. The team lost to eventual champions Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor. Bhupathi won the 2007 Canada Masters after losing to top-ranked doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan en route. After this triumph, he won a tournament in New Haven with Nenad Zimonji. He and Zimonji paired in doubles at the 2007 US Open. Knowles and Nestor split up after the US Open semifinals, defeating Bhupathi and tpánek in the French Open semifinals. Bhupathi became Knowles' partner, while Zimonji became Nestor's, but back surgery kept him out until the year's end.
Bhupathi and compatriot Sania Mirza won the Australian Open mixed doubles title in 2009, defeating Nathalie Dechy and Andy Ram, 6–1, in the final. The Indian pair recovered from the disappointment of last year's final when they were defeated by Sun Tiantian and Nenad Zimonji. Bhupathi's number in mixed doubles Grand Slam titles climbed to seven with this victory.
Bhupathi ended his relationship with Knowles and began playing with Max Mirnyi, with whom he defeated the 2002 US Open. For the 2011 Australian Open, Bhupathi reunited with former playing partner Leander Paes. The team made it to the final, but the Bryan brothers took home 3–6, 4–6. Bhupathi and Sania Mirza won the French Open mixed doubles on June 7, 2012. The Paris Masters Cup was won by Bhupathi and partner Rohan Bopanna on November 4, 2012. Despite being disappointed after losing to Jonathan Marray and Frederik Nielsen in the ATP Tour Finals opener, the Indian pair advanced to the final round of the ATP Tour Finals, but Marc Granollers and Marc López were unable to advance.
In the first three months of 2013, Bhupathi and Bopanna won the tournament in Dubai with Michal Llodra, but the Monte-Carlo Masters revived.
