The Justice Department has agreed to pay $100 million to 100 victims of the former Team USA gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar who sexually abused them. FBI agents failed to take the reports of Nassar's potential abuse of the star athletes seriously, the Justice Department have ruled. The total price of payouts over the liability of Nassar's actions has now been brought to over $1billion. Michigan State University agreed to settle claims with hundreds of victims for $500million in 2018, after complaints about Nassar's abuse were dismissed and buried several times. Star gymnasts such as Simone Biles, McKayla Maroney, Maggie Nichols and Aly Raisman all spoke out against their former doctor.

Douglas, 26, took to Instagram on Sunday to announce that she would move away from social media to concentrate on her mental health. A few days before, she had talked about why she doesn't want to'post a lot about gymnastics,' adamantly said, 'I have my reasons.' The former gymnast said she did not have'so many bad things' she endured on the road to her second Olympic Games in 2016 (right). Douglas was one of hundreds of female gymnasts sexually assaulted by Nassar (inset), a former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University professor. The three-time Olympic gold medalist recalled how she'went through hell,' adding, 'There are still so many things that have been left in the dark.' Douglas is one of the 90 athletes suing the FBI for failing to arrest Nassar.
