Amazon Studios executives have sponsored a sequel to Blade Runner 2049. Several outlets announced on Thursday that the forthcoming science fiction program would be called Blade Runner 2099, and Deadline announced that it would be called Blade Runner 2099. Ridley Scott, the original 1982 Blade Runner film, will be one of the series' executive producers.
