Early life and education
Verasamy was born in King's Lynn, Norfolk, and attended Silfield Primary School in Wymondham, Framlingham College Junior School in Suffolk, and King Edward VII School in King's Lynn, where she studied A-level geography. She earned a BSc (Hons) degree in geography from Brunel University in 2001.
Career
Verasamy earned a degree in meteorology and worked at the Press Association's weather center, Later renamed Meteogroup, Europe's biggest private weather company, and newspaper meteorologist, providing national and international weather forecasts for television, radio, and newspapers.
Verasamy joined Sky and became the regular weather presenter on the Sky News breakfast show Sunrise having completed a work experience placement at the Sky Weather Centre before becoming a weather forecaster. Verasamy answered questions asked by citizens of the public regarding climate change in 2007. She has also contributed to Sky News The Weather Girls blog.
She joined Daybreak as a weather forecaster and environment reporter on September 6, 2010, alongside Kirsty McCabe. McCabe left the programme on February 7th, making Verasamy the sole weather forecaster. She left the program on August 2nd, 2012.
Verasamy has been fronting the national weather forecasts for ITV since 2012.
