Linda Diane Thompson (born May 23, 1950) is an American singer/lyricist, former actor, and beauty pageant winner; but she is perhaps best known as one of Hee Haw Honeys. She was a longtime girlfriend of Elvis Presley before marrying Olympic decathlon champion Bruce Jenner and legendary music producer David Foster.
Early life
Thompson was born in 1950 and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, as the granddaughter of Margie (née White) and Sanford Abel Thompson. Sam, Elvis Presley's older brother, was one of Elvis Presley's bodyguards.
Personal life
Thompson attended a private movie screening at the Memphian Theater in Memphis on July 6, 1972, which was hosted by Elvis Presley. Thompson was 22 years old at the time. She and Presley were together for four years before breaking up around Christmas 1976. They broke up because, like Priscilla before her, Thompson wanted a "normal" life, which was not feasible with Presley's lifestyle. However, they broke up on good terms and remained close friends until Presley's death.
Thompson began a friendship with Olympic gold medal decathlete Caitlyn Jenner, who was then known as Bruce. In Oahu, Hawaii, the couple married on January 5, 1981. Brandon and Sam Brody, also known as Brody, have two sons together. Jenner told Thompson that she was a woman, and the couple divorced shortly after going through counselling.
