Former Central Park Five prosecutor Linda Fairstein, who claims that the scenes in 'When They See Us' depict her by name and depict her in a'false and defamatory light,' a federal judge has ordered Netflix to face defamation claims. Judge P. Kevin Castel confirmed that the libel case will continue on Tuesday, pointing to strong evidence that Netflix, director Ava DuVernay, and writer-producer Attica Locke behaved maliciously in their writing of the novel. Fairstein was portrayed by Felicity Huffman in 'When They See Us,' a four-episode series about the 1989 Central Park Five case that was released on Netflix in 2019.

After the bar's founder's death, the dark history of the Upper East Side bar Dorrian's was brought back to the forefront

The bar's sombre connection to a sensational 1986 murder between two classmates of elite private schools in the Upper East Side has been revived by Jack Dorrian's recent passing. Red Hands, a Dorrian's Red Hands, has been a local authority since 1960 and has served as a de facto clubhouse for a cadre of preppy local private school children retuning home from college. Jennifer Levin, 18, was discovered in Central Park on August 26, 1986, just hours after she had been brutally assaulted and murdered; police were told she was last seen at 'Dorrian's Red Hand'. Robert Chambers, 19, who noticed that his face was covered in scars resembling those of Levin's neck, where he initially said it was from his cat, was branded 'the Preppy killer.' Chambers later confessed to the murder, insisting that it was an accident when Levin tied up his hands with her underwear and started to stimulate his genitals in the park as she called for 'rough sex.'
