Lee Sheppard Life

Lee Sheppard (born 22 August 1974) is an Australian cartoonist and animator.

He lives in Sydney, Australia, and is currently researching and writing scripts for animated film and television.

Education

Sheppard spent two years at Paddington Art School under tutel from Stephen Wesley Gorton in 1993, then Classical Advanced Animation at Enmore Design Centre in 1995, and later on screenwriting for Children's Animated Television Series at the Australian Film Television Radio School in 2007.

Career

In his early twenties, Sheppard began drawing political cartoons for Fairfax community newspapers. He then appeared on several animated children's television shows, including Wicked! Gloria's House and Crocadoo. He was also the comic strip artist for Cactus Island, a strip based on the multi-award-winning radio show "How Green Was my Cactus." In this comic strip, Sheppard used the pseudonym D. Denko rather than his real name. Cactus Island was syndicated by Auspac Media, which was distributed in regional newspapers throughout Australia from 1999 to 2006.

He was nominated as a member of the Australian Cartoonists' Association by Jim Russell (The Potts) in 1994. (ACA). Lee has served as Secretary, NSW State Vice President, and Deputy President of the Commonwealth for five years. He was also nominated by Jim Russell in 1998 by the National Cartoonist Society, a national cartoonist society. Archived 25 May 2019 at the Wayback Machine in the United States.
