As he is imprisoned for rape, Jarryd Hayne's faithful gang of 'bruvs' follows him

Hayne has now been found guilty twice of rape in three separate lawsuits (one of the verdicts was reversed). All the while being surrounded by a handful of families, acquaintances, and some of his footy teammates, he has maintained his innocence. Judge Graham Turnbull SC sentenced Hayne to three years in jail, with his conviction dating back to July 2, 2022, to account for the last nine months he spent in detention. That means he will be out on parole by May 6, 2025, which would have put him out of office. Within his own circle, including many fellow NRL stars, the 35-year-old was first jailed in May 2021. Many of us shared photos of support and outrage at the time, including Hayne's. However, there has been a significant silence from many of his backers who had been eager to defend the footballer who now in the words of Judge Turnbull, 'would not be remembered for sport.' Daniel Son (left), one of a select few of Hayne's supporters, was one of a few to attend the sentencing on Friday. Mr Son posted a snap (right) of himself smiling alongside Hayne and former St George-Ilawarra and Parramatta actor Corey Norman just days before his first prison stint two years ago. People will always have their own opinion, but nothing will ever break the BROTHERHOOD.' Always a giggle with these two,' Mr Son controversially captioned the post
