After going into labour during a low-risk planned home birth, mother Robyn Davis of Steyning, West Sussex, said she took on the fluid but was unable to pee. Orlando was born on September 10, 2021, with no heart beat and extensive brain injury. He died two weeks later in intensive care at Brighton's Royal Sussex County Hospital. Following a string of seizures at Worthing Hospital, Robyn sustained life-changing injuries during the emergency caesarean section and was put into a coma.

Jamie Thomas, 30, was sentenced to three years in jail for springing a 'prolonged and persistent assault' against his ex-partner Laura Williams, who was bitten by her hair and had her ribs broken as a result of several horrific incidents. Thomas' assault of Laura was heard at Cardiff Crown Court on February 22, to 'an appalling degree.'
