Koji Kondo noticed something flapping in the wind while walking through Osaka University of Arts, which is located in the southwest area of Japan's northwest region. He recalls of the intuitive time when he saw a job for a sound editor at Nintendo.
Kondo was intrigued. After all, he was a young boy at the time, and was known to play around with synthesizers. In addition, being a fan of table games made working for the company enticing. "I just thought that this seemed to be a heavenly gift for myself," says Kondo. "I actually applied to one company after school, and that was Nintendo."
