News about Kieran Trippier

Newcastle's stale team is WORSE than it was two years ago and Brighton exposed that in 1-0 win - but it's down to wasteful recruitment, not transfer restrictions, writes CRAIG HOPE

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 20, 2024
CRAIG HOPE: Four without a win in the Premier League, no goals from open play in nearly seven hours and a feeling that Eddie Howe's best XI is weaker than it was two years ago. Key players such as Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson have aged and are increasingly absent, while others like Fabian Schar and Dan Burn are sound performers but will turn 33 this season.

The era of Trent Alexander-Arnold is here: Liverpool star finally has an England manager who will give him the platform for international success, writes SAMI MOKBEL

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 8, 2024
SAMI MOKBEL AT THE AVIVA STADIUM: Trent Alexander-Arnold: unlocked. Those of Liverpool persuasions may not have batted an eyelid at their right-back's swashbuckling performance here in Dublin. They are accustomed to his marauding bursts down the wing. They are used to seeing him pop-up in central midfield where he can showcase his passing range to devastating effect. But those who follow England won't have necessarily recognised this Alexander-Arnold, whose international career up to this point has been average at best. Alexander-Arnold has often cut a timid, almost forlorn figure, when in an England shirt; lacking in the confidence he usually oozes, carrying the air of an individual playing within himself. Someone frozen by the fear of making an error.

We understand Nickson has been taking the necessary courses to become a sporting director himself, and he was being considered for a more prominent position at the club earlier this year. He was very well thought of by former co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi.
