Bournemouth have announced the loan signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Spaniard, who joined the club for £71m in 2018 - the world record price for a goalkeeper - has been out-of-favour at the Blues over the past few seasons. He spent last season loan at the Santiago Bernabeu with Real Madrid, where he won both LaLiga and the Champions League. 

Kepa would sign an extension with Chelsea on reduced terms prior to moving on loan. The stopper, who spent last season at LaLiga champions Real Madrid, has attracted interest from several clubs, including Saudi sides, this summer. Chelsea are ready to offload him but with his contract expiring at the end of the current campaign, he would first need to renew his deal before leaving. Andoni Iraola's Cherries are open to strengthening between the sticks with Kepa now set to provide competition for club captain and current No 1 Neto.

KIERAN GILL AT STAMFORD BRIDGE: Chelsea are still looking to offload players as they try to trim their bloated squad, and one Man City sibling in particular is impressing.

Enzo Maresca has expressed his frustration with the oversized Chelsea squad, admitting that it's 'not good' to have so many players sidelined from first-team training. Chelsea currently have an eye-watering 43 players on their books, yet only 28 were selected for the club's recent preseason tour, with Maresca opting to leave the majority of the squad back in London.

KIERAN GILL: Chelsea have signed 22-year-old goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal, immediately flying the young shot-stopper to the United States to begin training under Enzo Maresca. Seen as an ideal candidate for Maresca's style of play, Jorgensen was present in Atlanta for a session at Pace Academy after his £21million move was completed on Tuesday. Maresca was keen to add a new shot-stopper to his squad to boost his bid to play out from the back. Chelsea's goalkeepers have been taking part in passing drills in training.

SIMON JONES: The 22-year-old is due to undergo a medical this week ahead of agreeing a seven-year contract. As reported by Mail Sport, the Blues had offered £17m but Villarreal held out for £21m - with both clubs reaching a compromise in recent days. Jorgensen is thought to be keen to join the club to compete with current No 1 Robert Sanchez and will pledge his long-term future to Stamford Bridge. He could now fly out to the United States for his medical checks.

Some big names have been left out of Chelsea's US pre-season tour, with uncertainty over the futures of six players in particular.  The club have named a 28-man squad that will fly out to the United States, with their first game against Wrexham in California on Wednesday.  Enzo Maresca's side will then go on to face Celtic, Club America, Premier League rivals Manchester City, before concluding the tour with a game against Real Madrid in Charlotte, North Carolina on August 7. 

Chelsea have reportedly made an initial approach to sign Danish youth international Filip Jorgensen from Villareal. Jorgensen served as the La Liga side's No 1 last season, making 37 appearances in all competitions as they narrowly missed out on a European place. The 22-year-old is a regular for Denmark's Under-21 side, having previously represented Sweden at multiple youth levels.

KIERAN GILL: Kepa Arrizabalaga is training separately to Chelsea 's first-team stars after reporting for the start of pre-season at Cobham ahead of their tour of the United States. Several clubs have shown an interest in him this summer, including from Saudi Arabia, and his future is expected to become clearer within weeks, perhaps even days, as talks continue.

Kepa Arrizabalaga reportedly has a significant offer on the table to leave Chelsea. The goalkeeper is back with the Blues after spending last season on loan at Real Madrid. However, he could now be set for a permanent departure from Stamford Bridge. Last season Kepa made 20 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions and kept nine clean sheets.

Despite Courtois starting for Real Madrid in their Champions League final victory against Borussia Dortmund, he was missing from his country's 26-man group. Shortly before the 2023-24 season, the stopper sustained a serious ligament injury and was ruled out for the majority of the campaign. Indeed, he only returned with a handful of games remaining and made just five appearances in total. Kepa Arrizabalaga was initially drafted in on loan from Chelsea to replace him while Andriy Lunin impressed between the sticks and became the club's new No 1. But Courtois returned to his best after recovering from his setback and pulled off several eye-catching stops against Dortmund to secure Madrid a memorable treble.

Kepa Arrizabalaga will reportedly talk with new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca before a decision is made on his future. Arrizabalaga joined Real Madrid last summer on a season-long loan after regular Los Blancos shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois ruptured his ACL, ruling him out for the majority of the season.  The stopper didn't manage to make much of an impact at the Bernabeu, slipping to third choice behind Andriy Lunin as the season went on.

Additional funds will be welcome at Stamford Bridge, as the club only narrowly remained compliant of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules in the latest set of accounts, which were released in April. The majority of the figure comes from two deals involving players going to the same club.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Thibaut Courtois will start ahead of Andriy Lunin in the Champions League final.  The Belgian goalkeeper has played just four time all season having suffered an ACL injury last August.  In his absence Lunin established himself as the No 1, ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga, and delivered some superb performances in Real's run to the final including in the quarter-final penalty shootout win over Manchester City. 

Real Madrid fans have chastised Carlo Ancelotti for denying Andryi Lunin of a coveted individual award. The Ukrainian, who joined the 13-time European champions from Zorya Luhansk for £7.3 million in 2020, has had an excellent season with Los Blancos, earning nine clean sheets in 18 appearances so far. Lunin's results, with Madrid on track to regain the title he lost to Barcelona last season, would normally make him a lock-in for the Zamora Trophy.

Chelsea's net income by selling ten players with the Blues could reach a dramatic peak this summer as they continue to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Guidelines (PSR). In the first full year under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital's ownership, the club reported a tax loss of £90.1 million last week. Chelsea FC Holdings Limited's accounts showed the loss for the 12-month cycle until June 30, 2023.

Chelsea could face Saudi Arabia in the summer after it became apparent that the club's chairman, Todd Boehly, spoke with Michael Emenalo during a recent visit to the Middle Eastern country's capital. Emenalo is the Saudi Pro League's director of football, having previously worked in Chelsea's boardroom. The meeting, which was reported to have been held in Riyadh in the last fortnight, would only add to rumors that the club is attempting to offload players to Saudi Arabia.
