Juan Gelman, born in 1930 (3 May 1930 – 14 January 2014) was an Argentine writer.
Between 1956 and his death in early 2014, he published more than twenty books of poetry.
He was a naturalized citizen of Mexico, where he appeared as a Military Junta political exile. Gelman was named winner of the Cervantes Prize in 2007, the most coveted in Spanish literature.
