Two records were broken as Portugal beat Slovenia on penalties to reach the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. After the game ended goalless after extra-time, Portugal won 3-0 in the shootout.  Portugal are now through to the quarter-finals, where they will take on France on Friday.

He took time away from the sport in 2020 due to depression before missing the second half of the 2021-22 campaign. His emotional comeback this summer capped off a remarkable turnaround, however, and Rice was spotted making a beeline for him after he was brought on. In 2018, Ilicic was hospitalised with a lymph node infection, an illness he revealed 'changed him'.
