Bleary-eyed Reading and Leeds festival music fans pack up their tents (that weren't blown away by the wind) and head home

Festivalgoers clutched onto their sleeping bags in the sunshine as they boarded a bus back to Reading station following a weekend mired by wet and dreary weather after Britain was battered by Storm Lilian and 60mph winds that sent tents flying. Revellers were looking weary with some still wearing their pyjamas as they trudged along on bank holiday Monday lugging trollies packed with their belongings and pillows. Those heading out on the roads face battling with 20million other drivers on congested roads. Warm temperatures of up to 24C (75F) will prompt an estimated six million people to take day trips on the last bank holiday before Christmas , according to the RAC. Another 13million will be journeying home from weekend breaks today, with drivers urged to travel in the early morning or mid-evening to avoid the worst queues.
Here comes the sun! Revellers at Reading and Leeds festival finally get a ray of light after dreary start to bank holiday weekend - with temperatures rising to 21C

Revellers at Reading and Leeds festival are finally seeing some summer sun after a dreary start to the bank holiday weekend. The Met Office said there had been 'a taste of autumn' as temperatures fell quite widely into single figures ahead of a fresh Sunday morning and a blustery day with temperatures of around 20C in the south east. Festivalgoers at Bramham Park in the West Yorkshire city and at Little John's Farm in Berkshire were pictured wearing their best festival attires as they hope to enjoy the last day of music after Storm Lilian had caused chaos for most of the weekend. Huge 60mph gusts of wind and heavy rain sent tents across both sites flying into the air and two stages were forced to be shut down in Leeds. But those in attendance will join the rest of the UK in making the most of Sunday's brighter weather, including the millions who have descended on west London to enjoy Notting Hill Carnival.

Storm Lilian shut down three stages at the four-day festival including the BBC Radio 1 stage, the Aux stage and the Chevron stage - only the latter will be opened again this weekend. Organisers said they are 'devastated' for festival-goers and 'of course the artists that were eager to play'. Brit Award winner Jorja Smith , rock band The Wombats and American singer Teddy Swims were all due to perform on the now out-of-use stages. It comes amidst revellers at Leeds Festival demanding refunds as performances were cancelled yesterday and wild winds sent tents flying.

Glastonbury goes Sugababes mad! Thousands of fans force festival bosses to close off entry amid huge demand as supporters call for the girl group to be given a slot on the Pyramid stage
www.dailymail.co.uk,

The West Holts stage, which has capacity for 35,000 people, had to operate a 'one in one out' system to avoid a crush as fans arrived to watch the Sugababes. The English girl group performed at Glastonbury in 2022 on the smaller Avalon Stage which has a capacity of 3,000 - but police restricted entry to the gig to stop more people arriving. Sensibly this year the Sugababes were given an upgrade to the open air stage West Holts, but once again, they proved to be more popular than Glastonbury organisers imagined. Perhaps Glastonbury-goers are looking for a sense of nostalgia in the Sugababe's hits such as Push The Button and Overload?

Curtis Mayfield and Smokey Robinson embraced everything from Lupe Fiasco to Madlib and Gorillaz, a surprising mix of influences that would lay the groundwork for his genre-blending alternative hip-hop sounds he's since coined. By the time Joseph turned 13, he was ripping beats from Bandcamp and YouTube to recording on his laptop.
Joseph says, "Those days inspired me to learn how to use my voice." MTV News reports: "I've come to the point where the music that I wanted to make was ineffective or I couldn't arrange the songs the way I wanted to structure them." I only knew how to produce because of it.

The award, which has been long known as the Critics' Choice, has set the bar for young future stars of UK music, so making it shortlisted alone is a big deal. FLO, Cat Burns, and Nia Archives, a R&B girl group, have all been accepted, but we don't know which will take it home.
The award winners have included some little-known names who haven't done well since being selected. You might have heard of Adele?Or perhaps you've listened to the odd Sam Smith track?Jorja Smith ring any bells? You get the idea. Holly Humbertsone, this year's crown holder, was 2021, with Griff taking the crown in 2021. On Dec. 8, the 2023 champion will be announced.
